This is a really tricky one to articulate so please do bear with. I experience a lot of what feels like, muscles popping, readjusting and locking when moving around, or getting up from a resting position. I also get a lot of clicking in my joints, thumbs, writs, shoulders. I'm currently suffering with a frozen shoulder after months of crunching and grinding.
I have an appointment for an EMG at the end of March as my health anxiety is leading me down a rabbit hole that I don't wish to be in. The neurologist claims he is doing the EMG to reassure me this is fibro and not anything more sinister.
I'd be interested to hear from people who have similar experience with Fibro.
TIA 🙏

Hi LoobyM. I've suffered with fibro and osteoarthritis for some years now, but it's only been since about last October that I've suffered with the muscle popping thing. When it pops does yours hurt? Mine hurts like hell. My chiropractor says he doesn't think this is just fibro, but who knows! I only get it in my upper thighs/groin when my legs are not straight/slightly open. I have to be careful when I get up or sit down. Glad the doc is carrying out tests on you. Let me know the outcome if that's okay with you as it might help me. Take care & rest when you need to. Xx
Hello Rubydooby, no I can't honestly say it causes me pain, it's more discomfort. That said, the popping and re-adjustment(?) is in painful fibro spots (for me) I saw a chiropractor before Christmas and all this clunking and grinding was going on but he didn't seem unduly worried. The chiropractor was too extreme in terms of treatment so I continue with my own exercise at home. I have so many weird symptoms going on and quite often at the same time, it can feel really overwhelming at times. Today is my first day out of a three day run of fatigue. I've slept so much and exercise has been a struggle. I did the same walk today that I attempted yesterday, and wow what a difference a day makes. I will absolutely keep you posted on the results of my EMG 🤞xx
Sadly I can no longer go to the chiropractor anymore. I used to find it deeply relaxing, but once my FM took hold it very quickly became apparent that I was leaving each session worse than I was when I arrived.
Hey. Yes, I also noticed it too. It feels more like muscle sending or joints popping to me. Muscles feel stiff. And of course, stretching and exercise help.
My husband jokes I am made like those kids tumb puppets held together with elastic. I have found physio helpful. While the noises can be off-putting . I have found work on posture and being aware ofhow I move and stand helped me to understand my body better.I know how to move gently to align.
Pilates helped with balance.
I used to panic about it but I just go with it now. I hope you find what you need and your EMG goes well.
