Behold my wondrous tray :)

Sadly it doesn't include any of my pain killers, but being a fibromite with Hypermobility Syndrome, I think I can remember when I need to take those, and I NEVER run out!! :) so happy right now :)

Hi Lillian, I posted earlier in the week and was upset because they suggested I needed a tray because of short term memory loss and made out it was really only for people of an age, on the verge of admission to care homes, whereas I am 37. However, our lovely friends on this site put such a positive spin on it, and I found out that people of all ages use them so I wasn't a freak, and I felt much better about it. When I actually picked it up I was so excited! That's just for a week, without the Fibro pain relief...no wonder was getting muddled. Yes it's true, us Fibros always have several other rotten wearing illnesses, just to keep us down in case we get cocky and think Fibro is a walk in the park perhaps.

i read your post earlier in the week they insist on using the age thing & nobody fits into them you need help when you do we don't get to pick what age we get our problems ,i can understand you being excited at getting your tray with pills all ready instead of having to deal with all the boxes and getting muddled we all get memory problem s the dreaded fibro fog i have my husband to keep an eye on me.hugsxxx

It's amazing :) I think everyone should have one! I don't have to order any more prescriptions, all I have to do is remember to pop in to the chemist every Monday before I get my nephews from school and my new tray will be ready waiting. I'm glad you have you hubby to keep any eye on you ;), I have my dog, but he's no help, he ate two of my thyroid pills last week, and has had some of my mothers warfarin! More of a hindrance lol! X

Hi jigsawcat I now just what you mean I used to use a pill box for my parents pills they were in their 80s never in a million years did I think I would use one at 50 but it dose make life easer as many a day I couldn't remember if I had taken my meds so my moto is now if it makes life easer use it no matter what age you are wish you well. ju

in reply tofibro10

Our lovely Foggy said the same last week, and I think I might just adopt your moto. There is no point letting silly pride making life harder when you are already struggling :). I might spend my time designing an aesthetically pleasing brand of pill trays/boxes alongside my jewellery making hobby, and then your bedroom doesn't feel quite so clinical...xx

Is that the shape of things to come ! I thought it was amazing that boots text me every month to remind me to pick up my meds but there arnt nearly anywhere near the amount your on I hope you live in Wales they are free here ! I thought I might rattle . I have a little strip tray with days of week on . I see I will have to ask Father Christmas for one of those for Christmas , if you don't mind me asking how many types of meds are you on ? I was trying to count but I gave up , do you have creams and drops for eyes etc , take care Chris

in reply toShadows-walker

Hi Chris, I have 10 different pills on repeat, plus two twice a day tables medications that I collect direct from the hospital after seeing specialists as the aren't licensed in non-hospital pharmacies. Thyroid meds (self ordering as don't like the nhs ones) Then 2 creams, 3 different nasal sprays used in total 8 times a day then on top of that I'm supposed to take supplements etc. it's ridiculous really. There don't seem to be enough hours in the day. The ones in the tray are the really important 10 thought that can be dangerous if you suddenly stop taking then or forget a few doses, whereas I'd be uncomfortable but fine without the rest :)

in reply to

You shouldn't need to ask santa... My pharmacist prepares the whole tray for you, and orders all drugs direct.all you have to do it at all. You just turn up and pick it up, then attack the paper that covers the the space you need. #lifechanging

Hi Jigsawcat

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I think this is a really good idea! I would love one myself as I have so many tablets to take!

All my hopes and dreams for you

I'm so glad you got it sorted hunny and now that the pharmacist knows me, she puts in my pain killers all except one. Seriously, it may be insignificant to some but for me it was the best thing I ever did!

Good luck hunny.

Gentle hugs

It looks great. I have two of the weekly pill boxes and I've written along the side morning and evening because I was getting muddled about which I'd taken, how much and when. My daughter (who's 3) loves to help me put the pills in the different containers for the week. Fortunately I don't need as many pills as Jigsawcat - I'd definitely need one of those big trays to keep me organised.

What a marvellous bit of kit.

I never realised the chemist would make it up for you.

Even better.

My wife and I run a pharmacy, these are a big part of our service. They take some time to put together and are used by all sorts of folks, not just the elderly!

in reply toMark2657

Well can I say on behalf of all the befuddled patients out there, thank you for this wonderful service that takes a lot of your time ( and patience I should imagine) but makes such a huge difference to people like me that turn up crying at the pharmacy several times a week because I've run out of something, again! Shame they're not sweeties!

I've been using two for years. There's no minimum age and whatever else they do make it easy to sort them out.

:) :)

More of an advent calendar for pain relief ;)

It looks a thing of absolute beauty. I was the same after having to sort out tablets for my mother, mother in law and father in law into trays I also never dreamt that I would end up using one myself but it does make life easier. Both my husband and I have to have them so we just have to make sure they don;t get mixed up. I think I will have to start using a second one for the painkillers as they won't fit it and when I am having a really bad day I can sometimes forget which ones I have or haven;t had. Love the little illustrations at the top of yoursx
