Hi there seadoo, and welcome to the site , I think you have found the very best support site there is. Could I suggest you take a look at our mother site fibroaction.org where there is a lot of very useful information. I think you will find everyone very friendly and welcoming and we try to have a little fun to lighten the mood, so do join in if you feel like it :-)

With regards to your question I think the answer is yes, you will get paid, however I cannot categorically say "yes" as part of it depends on whether your are receiving it on an income related basis or on a contributions related one, but I think it more than likely that you will get money even if it is time limited due to the things I've stated, some contribution related benefits are reviewed on an annual basis.

I think the best thing you can do is to contact your local jobcentre or even the DWP direct. Was there no mention of monies in the letter you got saying you'd been put into the WRAG ? Alternatively the CAB will be able to help you, but if I were you I would go direct to your local jobcentre, and get some clarification from them there.

I really hope this all works out well for you, do let us know how you get on, and I look forward to seeing you around the forum :-)

Hi seadoo

I am so sorry but I do not know the answer to this myself. However, I have pasted you a link below to ATOS own website and this should be able to answer your question?

atoshealthcare.com/claimants/

I want to wish you all the best of luck with this.

It should mean that, but are you able to attend the work related groups, and go get a job? If not you must appeal soon, If I remember rightly the wrag is time limited and after twelve months the money stops. Please anybody who knows better put me right?

Jan

Yes you will get paid again & it should be back dated to when they stopped paying you. You can give them a call to ask when you will receive your money. Sometimes this will get them moving. They are quick to stop payments but not so quick to restart.

Good luck :-)

is this what happened to you thanks

in reply toseadoo

Yes it did. You need to keep on at them to get your money. Even though they've put you on work capability you still get paid. Phone them today & get the ball rolling.

Financial support

You’ll normally get the assessment rate for 13 weeks after your claim. This will be:

up to £57.35 a week if you’re aged under 25

up to £72.40 a week if you’re aged 25 or over

After that, if you’re entitled to ESA, you’ll be placed in 1 of 2 groups and will receive:

up to £101.15 a week if you’re in the work-related activity group

up to £108.15 a week if you’re in the support group

If the assessment takes longer than 13 weeks your benefit will be backdated to the 14th week of the claim.

WRAG means that they will expect you to go to meetings to find a job that suits your condition. Failure to attend could mean you being sanctioned. However if you supply a sick note (no longer than 3 months) you cannot be forced to go to the meetings. I am not 100% sure but I think they can get their doctor to question the sick note?

Income related is means tested so will take partners income into it

Contribution is based on you paying NI for 24 months prior to claim

Be well

It was just over a year for me & I was put into the Support Group. I don't have a partner so it's just me alone & I don't know anything about means tested regarding wife/partner.

I was put into Support Group just over 1 year ago & I then got another application booklet to fill in & return to them for 27 May. I was told I would not be assessed for 3 years. I don't understand why I got this again as nothings changed with my health, in fact I now have another health problem which I now have but didn't include it on my application until I go see a Neurologist & have a diagnosis.

Don't waste time & get onto them.
