Thanks to all who took the time to reply yestrday, today I would like to know of any books/cds etc

Hello Shazzy,
I would like to provide you with this link, as some members have found it helpful;
healthunlocked.com/fibroact...
I would also like to mention I have personally been trying the Baoding balls after being bought some to help with stress
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baodi...
It personally gives me something to do with my hands and it's relaxing, so in that respect I think it helps. I haven't noticed any other benefits as yet!
I expect you'll get many other helpful comments too
Best Wishes

HI,
you can get CDs of guided meditations which help. And there are some great pain control CDs you can get from the library. I also recommend' Fibromyalgia for dummies" plus there are some great links here for info.

Not usic but Mindfulness For Health is a good book which makes you look at illness in an entirely different way and it has a free CD with it that gives you about 6 different forms of meditation to follow which you can transfer to your computer or MP3 player. I borrowed mine from the libaryx
Hi Shazzzy
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I must admit that I do not personally know of any but I want to wish you all the best of luck with this.
Take care

Progressive Muscle Relaxation. If you type that in to a certain on line seller there's plenty of choice and most nights it works for me. You can do it any time but I find it best just before bed or even in bed I downloaded 1 for 89p.
The NHS does a CD with 2 tracks, 1st with a commentary to learn with, then the same gentle music for you to go ahead on your own pace.
I've just wasted £7.99 on a book, it dodnt tell me anything new and the recipes were bad for other conditions I have.
I'm a bit of a control freak (kindly put as self reliant) and tend to things alone, my own way.
I wonder if there's a local support group. That can be found on the fibro website.
Meditation is great as is gentle exercise, whatever you level of activity. I use a basic Tai Chi DVD and fast forward when I've had enough of any particular bit or come across 1 I cant do. Out of a 50 min basic session I probably do 20 mins, and again just before bed is a good time, though again anty time of day.
As for music, how about you own favourite piece you relaxt to. If its already on CD or MP3 you can set it to loop. I have my own playlist when I'm not using the ones I've described.
