Well, I sent off my DLA forms about 4/5 weeks ago and had the text back saying that they had received it and the process could take up to 11 weeks. The brown envelope came back yesterday. I have got DLA for another 2 years and I didn't even see a doctor or anyone else. I am still in shock!! I sincerely hope, that anyone else applying for this is successful and don't have the normal stress and worries that we normally go through.

DLA - The Sequel
Hi Freya congratulations can I be cheeky and ask what your medical condition is that you claim DLA for. Take care. X
Hi Cloggs. Not a problem. I have Fibromyalgia, Hypertension and Tinnitus. I have been to a few doctors independently and each have actually said the said the same thing. Due to the cronicity (hope that's spelt right) of my condition, they do not see me doing any meaningful work again. I am in pain 24/7 and I don't get much sleep either! Do you have the same? Freya X
Hi Freya that's unbelievable I have exactly the same as you also degenerative disc disease it's horrible not being able to sleep. I'm over the moon you you were awarded your DLA for a further 2 years. You take care janet xx
Hi Freya 19.
Congratulations am so pleased when the system works properly of a change.
Take care and kindest regards.
Terry
Congratulations Freya. I am really pleased for you.
My DLA was stopped after I asked for a reassessment when I was also diagnosed with Menieres Disease. In addition I have Fibromyalgia, Hypertension, Arthritis, Lumbar Spondylosis IBS, Urge Incontinence and Plantar Facilitis. I have my date for appeal on 28.04.2014 so here's hoping I get a positive result also.

I'd guess this might have something to do with ATOS breaking contract with the gov. Already WCA/ESA claims will not be retested once successful for at least the next two years because they have no-one else to cover the massive numbers of tests that need doing, let alone the harassing re-tests every twelve months, looks like the DLA re-tests are all going to be barely tested until we get told we have to change to PIP and if that's the way it's going to be then at least the murdering scum in power finally did something right!
You would like to think that they have realised their mistake and are now trying to get it right!!
Hi ladysian
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I think that you could be on to something with that? I was saying the other day on the forum to members that my wife got her DLA without seeing anybody, everything came from her letters and reports from medical channels.
Take care
Ken x
Hi Ken and Ladysian. I really hope that the next motley crew that they get in are well versed in All disabilities, use our own GPs as first point of contact and most importantly Believe the people who are trying to claim whatever it is. Oh, before I forget, hopefully they will review and revise the war and peace forms that we have to fill in!! X
