Hope you are all feeling ok and not in too much pain.
I went for a gastroscopy and colonoscopy yesterday. Found it very, very uncomfortable as the sedatives did not work at all!!
They now say they want to do a CTVC of my colon. To be honest I cannot bear the thought of going through this again in the space of approx a week.
The whole experience has really scared me and I still feel very bruised in the stomach today. I had the 'oscopies' done a year and a half ago and I was very well sedated and comfortable. Cannot believe the same test could have such extreme experiences.
But would really love to know what CTVC entails as never heard of it before.
Thank you for reading my long rambling post. X

I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I am so sorry to read that you found the experience very off putting. As I did when I underwent both, I was not allowed the anesthesia just a lubricant due to my allergies. So I understand completely how you feel.
I have pasted you a couple of links below that I hope you find useful? The first is the BUPA explanation of the procedure:
This second link is an interesting feature as research has suggested that Vitamin D deficiency can cause inflammatory bowel disease, so take it at face value and judge this for yourself, I have not made my mind up about it yet?
Thank you for that Lizzyear, it is very much appreciated. I was supposed to have an endoscope down to the stomach that day but the consultant refused to do it because of my COPD, what a relief that was!
