Why aches in my legs and feet only at night?

Hello all, Can someone tell me why only my legs and feet ache every night, even if I stay in bed all day? When I wake up in the morning I feel the typical body aches coming on, so I take my pain meds. Although my legs and feet have a slight ache...

Me too Mark, within 10 minutes of going to bed my legs hurt so much I find it difficult to get comfy to sleep. I take painkillers to go to bed but they don't help.

Thanks for your reply Bvlgan. It's just so strange. I just wish I understood why it's just my legs and feet, and only at night. And why the pain meds don't work.

Hi Mark5177

I am so sorry to read that you have been suffering with this issue, and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to the problem.

I have pasted you a link below to NHS Choices, whereby the look at restless leg syndrome, I do not know if this is the sort of thing that you mean? But I hope that you find it useful.

I would always recommend that you discuss the issue with your GP if the problems is a new issue or something that is getting worse.

Take care

Ken

Thanks for your reply. This is been an ongoing issue. It's just getting to the point where I'm up all night and sleep all day. I guess I should go back to see my Rheumatologist.

Hi Mark,

I too suffer from this. It feels as if pain is 'radiating' from my knees and ankles, yet I feel it throughout my entire leg(s). I've found minor relief from putting a heating pad on my bed. The pain is generally the same regardless of how active I am during the day. Pain meds also don't help.

Hope you finds some answers, but I have a feeling we are not alone in this bizarre symptom.

You describe my condition exactly, but it only happens at night. I've tried a massager, but that didn't work so I'll try a heading pad. Thanks.

I find that a hot water bottle or two helps, as well as massage.

Humm, I have not thought of a hot water bottle. It the heating pad does not work, I'll try a few hot water bottles. Thanks
