Hip giving way !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi larissa, I haven't had much trouble with my hips, touch wood, but my left knee has started giving way. Bit scary when coming down stairs! Hope you get it sorted soon, gentle hugs, Julie xxx
If your hip i going that often I think a visit to your Doctor tomorrow would be good ! Get it checked let us know how you get on.

Hi, I think you should see your Dr. I had the same symptoms and I needed a hip replacement! I could stand the pain but not when my hip kept giving away and at times me falling down. Arthritis is a terrible disease please see your Dr. X
Hi larissa
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today? I am so sorry to read that you are having hip problems and I genuinely hope that you can find some resolution and relief to your issues.
With any new pain or intensity of pain I always recommend people to see their GP just to rule anything else out, and at least it also puts your mind at ease.
Please keep us up to date with how you get on with this problem.
All my hopes and dreams for you

I have pain in my hips too and also my left knee. I have been for an MRI scan to see if they can find out whats causing the loss of strength & support etc. My specialist thinks I may have greater trochanteric pain syndrome. Its a bit like bursitus...I also have arthritis too but thats not whats causing this problem. Hope you get some help and advice from your GP
I feel for you, glad your going to see your GP. I had exactly the same symptoms and had my left hip replaced last Monday...already I can feel a difference in pain level...not gone but then I have Osteo as well as FM...sending gentle hugs xx
Hi, I have multi-joint osteoarthritis for years. Many years ago they referred to it as 'wear and tear'. My right one finally gave up. I am trying to hold I to my left one as long as I can! Fingers crossed you get sorted out. X
Hi Spandy
I sincerely hope that you are feeling as well as you possibly can be today?
I have just read your reply to larissa, and it brought back memories for me. When I was first told I had arthritis about 25 years ago, they said to me it was arthritis with wear and tear. I said that I was only 25 so I could have wear and tear at my age? But I never got an answer.
Take care

Hi Ken, I was 18 when I first noticed the aches and pains but I was very fit, played most sports. I suffered throughout my 20s and 30s. Eventually I had to go to the Dr and they said wear and tear! In my 40s I pushed myself to keep fit and ran every morning before work! At 51 I just had to stop as I was so sore and could hardly move. At 53 I was so bad and I trailed my left leg and enough was enough I wanted some answers! The answer is I have multi joint arthritis resulting in 2 hip replacements (the first one didn't work!). So at 54 I was knackered! I also have fibromyalgia, so now at 59 I require at times a walking frame with a seat and a wheelchair. I will be buying a mobility scooter soon just so I can get out by myself without relying on my husband who also has multi joint arthritis! I have just had my right should done and will be getting the left one done in the summer (I hope as this right shoulder is still sore). I never smoked or drank and always tried to be healthy, now it is minute by minute which is awful. We have had to move to a bungalow. Sorry about the War and Peace but when I was young arthritis never entered my head! Hope you are feeling good and not in to much pain. Take care Spandy. X
Hi, I have the same problem with my right hip. It comes and goes, but when its here, its here for several weeks. I can be going along great, then bingo, I'm almost on my knees when it pings. The Rheumatologist reckons its a tendon. Its straight down the front of my body/leg, right along my knicker line. (No I'm not trying to get into smaller knickers than I need). If you are not happy, get it checked out by your gp. My knees also have a life of their own and seem to swing about in their sockets, feeling like they've dislocated at times and very painful, the rheumo doesn't seem worried and says its part of fibro again. Hope you get it sorted soon. Gentle hugs x
