I have my atos medical at 3.15 this afternoon-time to be judged and labelled and pulled about again. My migraine is 7 on the pain scale, but will likely be 8 or 9 by the time it's over! I know I'm not gonna be able to stand for more that half a minute, but they don't accept that. Do I have the right to refuse to do anything that will cause me further pain? I'll have a 40 minute bus ride both ways, and the journey back home is not going to be much fun! X
Today's the day.: I have my atos... - Fibromyalgia Acti...
Today's the day.
Good luck Sarah. When I went for my atos, the examiner said that I didn't have to do anything that would cause me pain. I hope you get sympathetic treatment. I really hope u get someone who understands how long term health conditions affect us. Did u know u can ask for an examiner who knows about your condition? My examiner wrote in my report that fibro, "pain in muscles", and that was it! That was part of how I won my appeal. Really hope ur migraine doesn't get too bad, will be thinking of you, good luck and big, v. gentle hugs, Julie xxxx
Thank you. After my last exam I was labelled as fat and lazy, making no effort to do what she was trying to make me do, despite my telling her on arrival that everything hurt. She even forced me to stand for the whole 3 minutes-then said I could do a job that would involve standing for up to 2 hours! I was nearly in tears by the time she allowed me to sit, then refused to help me onto the table, then claiming I hadn't asked for help. They say you can ask for the exam to be recorded, but I wouldn't trust them to actually press the button! I'm bricking it! X
Hi Sarah,
Oh poor you, are you taking someone with you? I've got my assessment on the 31/03 and like you I'm scared stiff of this hole process,
I'm sending you gentle hugs and wishing you luck I'll be thinking of you xx
Words fail me Sarah. I was trying to type my reply, but am so angry about your treatment, that the only words that came to me were swearwords. How dare atos treat people like this! We are people, not statistics for the dwp to look good! Really Big, Really Gentle, Hugs my love, {{{sarah}}}, my heart goes out to you. Do u have anyone to go with you? Love, Julie xxxx
Good luck and I hope they treat you better than last time. lots and lots of hugs sue xxxx
