I was just coming back from our community shop this afternoon and noticed these in a garden, yes, they always do tend to appear here before the others, but never this early, methinks they may be in for a shock :o

Maybe Foggy but spring comes earlier where you are doesn't it? It beats mine of catkins on birch, hazel and alder with snowdrops and celandine. And they WILL get a shock, all are in the Itchen Valley which is a local frost pocket and 2 or 3 degrees colder that the rest anyway. . .Good photo

The name definitely rings huge bells, so you've rung some in Dalwood too :p hehehehe, was he in sciences ? Oh I would like to have a memory. Tra la :-) no chance !! :o

fenbadger in reply to Fibrofoggiest

Yes. Now retired. :)

I think my best was rang Widecombe :D

Memory is far from perfect. The oddest things come up at the oddest times. think I'm very susceptible to triggers. I'd forgotten Chris until you mentioned "a convent", then it flooded back. It's like living with spaghetti in this head :P :P

Hehehehe, I'm so glad to be in good company. I used to ring ages ago, but had to give up because of my shoulders and back, miss it

like mad, but just have to accept it's not something I will ever be able to do a gain :-(

Good grief, what a small world :o I'm sure I would know her, did she live at Andreshayes by any chance ?, totally understand if you'd rather not say :-)

'tis a tiny world, ain;t it? Sorry, my fault, I should have said surname was Dalwood. From Aylesbury. Had some fun with them being gay though. Nearest to you I've rung I think is Heavitree. I had to stop for other reasons but would not start again because of the fibro. :(

Maybe you ought to try and come to ring at Dalwood, our team is severely lacking in talent. We had a team here last year who range a full peal, it wasone of the ladies 1,000th full peal and what a change from the usual cacophony I must say :-) :-)

Would love to. Transport biggest prob. Haven't rung 5 years. Could probably bong behind. Never found that strenuous :) :)

A splash of yellow.

How heartening. There is a definite shift in the light and the birds have started to sing again.

That reminds me i had forgotten (very unusual for me to forget anything) :) but I noticed some bulbs coming up in a pot near the back door a day or two ago and i have absolutley no idea what they are. But to have bulbs of any sort on this hill, at this time of year is a record. I wonder what they are and when the flip did I plant them, I could not have forgotten . Could I ?

If you are anything like me Sue, you could forget your head if it wasn't attached to your body ! Just come off the phone to my sister in law and I know there was something I wanted to ask her and could I remember what it was.....NO. Gggrrrrr :o :o :o

I am still kicking myself for not writing down what I wanted to ask the neuro. did I remember? NO instead i found myself staring at the wall behind him mind totally gone out , as he sat watching me as though I was a very interesting test tube subject. I was so confused I just wanted out. Stupid I know he was the first medic who seemed to know what I was talking about and I ran away. Trust me. sue x

What are we like ? I know there is one very important question I need to ask the Solicitor in ghastly grim Surrey tomorrow, and can I remember what it is........nope, I've written loads of notes on my iPad, but the important one is missing grrrrr. Travelling all that way in a day is really going to take it out of me, but it has to be done, I'm just longing for this time tomorrow, back home and in bed, mission accomplished ! Eeeeekkkk :D :D :D

Drive carefully tomorrow Foggy, that must be a long trip. Can you get a good break somewhere?

WOW! Bit of a shock that is! The weatherman on BBC news said Thursday would be the coldest day of winter so far! I am really hoping that he is wrong though.

Take care
