It would appear I've spoken too soon.

So, you may well have seen my post a couple of days ago saying how great things are and how amazing I've been feeling etc...and so I'm say here with my laptop welded to my knee, because nothing will move without a crowbar gently teasing. Ha!

It took me 20 minutes to get out of bed this morning and go to the toilet and tell my parents I couldn't go to college. Something that normally would take me about a tenth of the time. my hips won't move, my ankles won't move, my shoulders are seized into one place. My back is just in blinding agony and I'm having serious problems breathing because it's hurting so much.

I genuinely can't do this if it's is what I'm going to be "looking forward to" as I gradually get older.

You get used to it, Berthy!

I have episodes of 'freezing' - it's happened half way up an escalator in BHS, and it frequently happens if I've been sitting in a restaurant for any length of time. My abiding fear is that people will assume I'm drunk!

You might need some medication to help you with your problems. What you have will be determined by your GP, but if you haven't had any, suggest, no, insist on having some blood tests to exclude any undiscovered pathology.

Happy freezing!

I resemble something similar to a pin cushion at the moment.

Did you know, every time I drink Water shoots from several holes.

Fortunately. I'm kidding but I will, thank you :) x

Yes I know it feels like you can't take it forever but go back to your GP and get your meds reviewed if needs be... I have had fibro 23 years and by learning what I can and can't do I keep my flares fairly well managed ... And now even when I get one I know it will be three days of I can't do this anymore and I will wake up the fourth day feeling wonderful.. It's taken a long time to get to this place but you will do it..

As you have found out when you feel well its hard to imagine how bad you felt ... With luck getting the meds right you can lead a good life if not exactly how you imagined... All the volunteer and FA staff have fibro and most of us had fibro met our OHs and went on to have children , so there is life with fibro .... So don't give up and think is this it forever..

I would love to be all optimistic and say that I believe you but, I'm really having trouble doing so, for myself anyway. I can see it for other people but, I'm weak. I'm nowhere near as strong as the people on here. I feel like such a let down saying that, but it's true. x

Be proactive and try to stay positive :) It is possible to manage Fibro - I'm living proof.

Have you been diagnosed with Myofascial Pain Syndrome? As I understand it from talking to experts over the years, the stiffness often associated with Fibro is actually usually myofascial pain syndrome. This is a symptom of Fibro, but is also a condition in its own right and it requires its own treatment. Unfortunately the separate diagnosis is often not made, partly because many doctors are unaware that this is a condition in its own right. FWIW getting to grips with my MPS was a very important part of my journey out of Fibro hell.

No, I've never heard of it either, I'll look into it an talk to someone about it, my Doctor at the moment couldn't give a flying f*** really. Thank you though. :)
