Bad day...

Today is a bad day, yesterday I was in complete pain but struggled through.

Last night I couldn't get to sleep in bed as I felt like my neck was going to snap in two. Even my fail safe of sleeping on the sofa offered me no respite as I couldn't lay comfortably.

Today I woke up feeling like I had been hit by a bus from the waist up. Cannot move without excruciating pain. Every movement causes me pain. Haven't made it into work as couldn't dress myself. So it won't be long before I lose my job, and at this rate my home. Mortgages don't pay themselves.

I am at a loss of what to do,

Lisa

Newbie here. Sorry to hear Lisamouse you are suffering with terrible pain. When you say you slept onsofa, did you fall asleep in sitting up position or laying down. As I have been sleeping on sofa like you, but found if fell asleep sat up the next day neck and shoulders had gone into spasm. Explained to dr. what was happening he suggested I go for treatment with physio and accupuncture. It helped at the time, physiotherapist explained head really heavy pushes on nerves in neck causing not only excruciating pain. But slows blood supply to our head, thats why we have so many headaches. Sounds like hot wheaty bags are needed for you, hope this helps you.

so many people "fall asleep" in the living room, it's a small wonder

that people don't put their bed right in that room or have a tele in

their bedroom, say on the wall corner -wall mounted. I assume

that's what the draw is to the living room...there seems to be a lot of

ache's pains and crabbiness when people camp out in the living room

and use a couch or a chair for their beds...The body should lay flat for

at night...it's better for the spine, neck..changing pillows can also be

an issue...when my kids were little and they had sleep overs, I allowed

them to bring their bed mattresses to put on the living room floor...

that way they were not giggling right in my ear and they could watch

the tele, eat in bed and no beds would get broken from jumping on..

Hi angelcrow

I'm sleeping on the sofa as if its a bed, laying down. I can't sleep in a sitting position.

I have a hot wheaty bag, but it doesn't offer much help..

Hi there really don't know how to help and hope your able to carry on working but this illness is so consuming. Should the worse situation happen and you have to stop working citizen's advice would be excellent for the correct advice so that losses can be minimal and managed. Hopefully this can help your stress some and not increase your symptoms. Debt management then becomes an option to so as to minimise any outgoings so you can live somewhat comfortably like I said hopefully this can be avoided but if not this is support out there hope this will help some. So sorry to hear of all your pain fibro friend and also in lots of pain here to.

Hi Lisamouse, Have you tried alternating from hot to like an icepack placed around your neck and placed over each shoulder this is what therapist told me to try. It sometimes works, but as you know with our pain levels nothing does. Please try it if you can bear the pain it opens and closes the little cappilarie veins in back of head. Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Kerry, I may need to invest in some more pillows then... :)

Hi Lisamouse, no real advice to offer suffering the same type of pain at the moment, nothing like it my neck feels like it is unable to support my head. I know how you feel, nothing is working for me right now.

Hope things improve for you soon

Hi, have you tried a foam support collar? My GP sent me to OT (or was it physio) to be fitted for the first one but they can be obtained via internet.

Not what you're looking for?
