Re our gentle giant Ben

Thank you all so much for your wishes for Ben, unfortunately he has now gone to the end of the rainbow in the sky to be with Sophie who died 4 weeks ago and that is still so very raw with me, he suffered a sudden brain infection and stroke, we were with him about 2hrs ago when he had to go, I called him my gentle giant, he was a huge boxer but so very gentle and followed me every where, he would lay in the garden where ever I was working, I miss them both so very much .....hugs to all.. From a very very sad Dee xxx :(

I am just so so sorry Dee , this is the last thing that you needed, especially as you are still grieving so much for your beloved Sophie. I can't begin to comprehend how you must be feeling, but I know it will be very hard for you, so I am sending lots of healing thoughts and vibes to you. Both dear Sophie and my Gertie will have been waiting for Ben and he will now be free from the pain and suffering and be running free, with no

inhibitions at all !!

Dear DEE I'm am soooo sorry to hear of your devastating news, so soon after Sophie. It is the worst!! The house just feels so empty. I know it's no consolation, but they will be reunited again, take some pleasure that they have each other and are not alone. This is going to sound so silly when my springer went I would always talk to hi a and ask him to let me know he was ok. A week or so after he went I dreamt that he was running up the garden towards me and he was all white. (He was liver and white) . I took great comfort from this as I saw it as he was letting me know.

My heart felt hugs to you. Xx

Dee, so sorry about your news. You must be feeling a sadness that is so empty. I have lost a dear friend too, my little cavi a couple of years ago and you never forget them, they will always be with you. You can tell yourself what a wonderful job you did and gave them both a home filled with love and kindness. My thoughts are with you.

Tannels xx

The Rainbow Bridge

inspired by a Norse legend

By the edge of a woods, at the foot of a hill,

Is a lush, green meadow where time stands still.

Where the friends of man and woman do run,

When their time on earth is over and done.

For here, between this world and the next,

Is a place where each beloved creature finds rest.

On this golden land, they wait and they play,

Till the Rainbow Bridge they cross over one day.

No more do they suffer, in pain or in sadness,

For here they are whole, their lives filled with gladness.

Their limbs are restored, their health renewed,

Their bodies have healed, with strength imbued.

They romp through the grass, without even a care,

Until one day they start, and sniff at the air.

All ears prick forward, eyes dart front and back,

Then all of a sudden, one breaks from the pack.

For just at that instant, their eyes have met;

Together again, both person and pet.

So they run to each other, these friends from long past,

The time of their parting is over at last.

The sadness they felt while they were apart,

Has turned into joy once more in each heart.

They embrace with a love that will last forever,

And then, side-by-side, they cross over… together.

Thank you. I love to share with people about this poem when they have lost a much loved furry family member. Still missing my two Irish setters, 10 years on.
