Sorry for the late reply. I would highly recommend trying Morphine patches, I am on Fentanyl 50 grams but they may start you on a lower dose, there is another Morphine patch which is also. Another patch which is good but I can't spell the name of it. With my patch I have Oramorph as a top up for break through pain. I find its a better pain relief that Gabapantin which have higher side effects. Good luck and let me know how you get on. Love Aisha x

I too would recommend them dear Dee, I don't have them but a friend has found them very useful, though you do have to remember to change them on the allocated day. As Aisha said, there are Fentanyl patches and Butrans is another that is used regularly.

I do so hope they help you with your pain levels and I would definitely give them a try, even just to see what difference they make.

Big Hugs (((Dee))) :-)

Foggy x

My doc gave me both types of patches but unfortunately they would not adhere to my skin . Hope it works out for you x

Hi Dee

I'm on exactly the same pain meds as you and I started the BuTrans patches about a month ago.

I was started on 5mg which was no good, then upped to 10mg ~ still in chronic pain so this week I've been upped to 15mg. It takes a while to get into your system.

I'd say that I think if my dose could be increased further they would be very good.

The side effects are initially feeling and being quite sick (without much notice)! Had diarrhoea too. It lasted about 3-4 days.

Now, as my patches are being increased the side effects get less each time.

In my humble opinion I would definitely recommend them. What do you have to lose?

If you want to know anymore feel free to message me.

Gentle hugs

Coz xx

Hello Cookie72, Sorry for late reply, I hope you got yourself sorted out with the Morphine Patches!!? In answer do they make you Sick with the patches the answer is NO. There is none of that with them just initially feeling tired to start with. Bru Trans are the best patches but I found the glue made me itch but they are worth a try, don't give up on them as you have nothing to lose. Love Aisha x

Oh dear. I'm sorry Dee.

I don't think I do much right on here :((

I have a VERY weak stomach.

I can't tolerate the majority of antibiotics or anti depressants.

I have IBS.

It may well be that they don't make you sick. Not everyone has side effects.

Sorry

It's ok coz, I wasn't having a go or anything like that it's not in my nature, I too have ibs and weak stomach, and asthma but having said that I will still give them go and a fair trial, anything is worth a try to ease this damn pain, I'm just a whimp when it comes to being sick, I think I panic, but don't ever think you don't do right on here, you do as good as the rest of us and your input like the rest of us is important, we are here to help each other and you were only being honest which is what we all need and should be, look forward to more posts from you, will let you know how I get on, sending a really special gentle hug to you ....Dee xx
