I am needing help to solve the mystery if i have fibro as well as my scoliosis
Nikki hello I am not a doctor but your ailment sounds very familiar to me infact a snap so what can I say quite probably and yes it is a terribly painful mix.
Try and take your mind of the pain by diverting yourself in some way take care xgins
hi gins thankyou for getting in touch i feel that i am not alone now as i first thought and as i take so many tablets (all can be seen on my profile i hope) people normally expect me to be drugged up and pain free which is the exact opposite. Just looking into the fibro and trying to find how i go about being diagnosed if its what i also have too. Thankyou once again nicola
Hi,
it can be more than possible. I have Fibro and scoliosis too. I use a TENS machine as well as taking similar medications as yourself. You might find taking the SR Tramadol is better than the 50mg version. This stops the sudden drop of pain coverage you get with the 50mg ones.
Hugs

Hi jilly i do take the tramadol 200mg as well as the 50mg i take the 200mg morning and night and the 50mg 2x twice daily so 600mg altogether along with all the other tablets ive put on my profile x how did you get diagnosed for the fibro as i am seeing my doctor on the 14th thankyou for your time x nicola
Hi Nicola,
I finally got my diagnosis after I was referred to the Pain Management clinic.

having Scoliosis is a curvature of the spine, yes will most probably cause pain to several parts of your body. i too have a curvature of the spine but mine was not from childhood where most who have it, it stems from childhood. For me it has having several ops on one hip that caused a shortening in my leg which in turn made my spine curve to compensate. I have Fibro too but the two have never been connected. One is an orthopaedic problem which you should be under them to constantly review as severe scoliosis could lead to 'quashing' of the lung cavity and fibro of course you'd see a rheumatologist.
So yes it is possible to have both but I can't see how anyone can tell from your post above.
Like the ethers have said, press for some pain management as the meds that you are taking may possibly be the wrong combination for you. wish you luck xx
