Gabapentin

I have been on max dose of gabapentin for 2 years however I have put on weight while on them and I would like to come off and lose the weight but what are the alternatives to gabapentin please? X

Hi to you both only thing i can say is ditto sound just like me i would be very interested to see some replies im sure you will get .i asked my doctor for help and was ignored he said i should watch what i eat more !!! As if i didnt know that thanx for the help doc !!! Good luck xx

Hi charlii, I was on gabapentin, had horrible side effects & so my gp changed me to Pregabalin. Feel much better on that. My weight has gone up & down all the time anyway. Haven't been able to lose it, but don't think I've had any significant weight gain due to my meds - in fact just recently, my clothes are beginning to feel looser, so perhaps I'm actually losing weight now!

Hi inhavebgeenon spent in fr years also tramadol sertralin and co codamol as a ackup they have no put me on morphine patches as well, I gained a litte weight but nothing to right home about, mind you I'm no a big crisp, cake, biscuit or sweet eater all I like really in the sweet line is ginger sweets panda liquorice and I have two squares of dark chocolate daily, don't know if that helps ....
