Hello emjane, what medication are you on at the moment? Love Aisha x
Lidocaine, amytriptiline , prelablin, tramadol nothing is working aisha x
hi there emjane I can relate to how you are feeling, can u not go back to your doctors and maybe ask to try some different medication, what works for one person doesnt necessarily work for others.. or maybe you could up the dose of what you are already taking, put this to the doctor and see what he says, some times a heat pad can work, on your legs I have tried that and it does help sometimes, we are all here for you, anytime you want to talk, you take care gentle hugs to you Dee xxx
Hope you feel better soon , although no evidence I too have had a flare up over the last 3 days( worse than my normal ) I wonder if the change n weather air pressure does affect my pain . The weather has changed from rain cloudy days to brilliant sunshine . Not that I'm complaining , but my knees wrists an nape of my neck have been extremely sore and I have had to phone my pain specialist nurse and up my gabapentin as I'm on maximum tramadol and naproxen and cocodamol 30/500 , duloxetine , I have been given a fentynl patch for slow release to help me through this is working well . I hope you can get help from gp soon or a pain expert. Big gentle hugs xxxxx
Hi Emjane,
Just a thought - I took tramadol with no relief at all, until my rheumatologist told me to take it together with a dose of paracetamol, as the two medications seem to enhance each other.
I had instant relief, and I have stuck to this ever since.
You could give it a try - there's nothing to lose!
Hope you feel better soon.

Hi Emjane, I really feel for you, it seems worse when the medication we take isn't working. Do you find the weather affects you? For me cold weather makes my pain worse, although hot weather appears to really lessen it.
I used to take amitriptyline but found that it certainly did nothing for my pain. I have been prescribed duloxetine 60mg and butrans patches I started off on 10mcg then after a month went up to 20mcg. They seem to really help the pain. (I forgot to mention that I used to be on tramadol up to 4 times a day, they stopped working very quickly)
The patches were effective in the colder windier weather we had which always mskes my pain worse.
I hope your GP will be supportive and be willing to work to find a combination of treatment that works for you.
By the way I was prescribed the patches and duloxetine at the pain clinic. The rheumatologist referred me there.
Good luck. Sending you healing thoughts.
Becky. Xx

I used to take codeine; which was a complete no no for me. My GP prescribed codeine phosphate 30mg tablets, which is much better when you need a boost. I take 1 or 2 with paracetamol when the pain is niggling. It helps a bit and I do not get a tight tummy. I hope you feel better soon.

HI EMJANE I HAVE TERRIBLE PAIN THE SAME AS YOU TRY NATURAL CRAMP SPRAY FOR YOUR LEGS WITH MENTHOL IN IT,IT MIGHT HELPX PINKRIBBONS
I know exactly were you are coming from, am so sick of pain every single minute of the day, its a struggle yes Ive been back to the doctors, am on morphine they just say your on a lot of medicines - they are the doctors all I can tell them is how I am how I feel, am not really living, but my heart really goes out to those with young family and those who have to cope and still have family to look after, am lucky I still have my mother even at 87 she is fit and really does look after me, I dont to housework, I dont cook - I explain how its to be done, as mother can cook but not a dinner its too much, so together we manage, I have a husband who has always put me first, seven years now with fibromyalgia am struggling, april just gone hubby thought it would do me good so booked a holiday to malta I lasted one day then ended up in hospital with gastroeneritis, ambulance hospital, how he actually manage to get me back to scotland I don't know, but thats me no more holidays abroad cant do it.
Have had stomach probs since november have had several tests mri/scans twice had camera down to be told everything fine liver etc only have a cyst on the pancreas, still have pain dont eat I know to live you must eat am struggling badly, so apart from morphine am taking codeine phosphate 30mg tablets, also have liquid morphine when really bad. I honestly now plan each and every day, sleep, nod if and when I can, do no more than I have to otherwise I pay in pain, after the gastro, I though fibro would be easy how wrong I was but seriously I just dont overdo, its hard but am learning, am here if you need me, my only advise is go with what your body needs...
I am walking so bad today ! I have asked an OT at work if I can do a referral for mobility equipment ! :(!
