Pain
I have been on this latest pain med ( nefopam ) for about 4 mths now, at first it worked but now my body seems to have become used to it and it no longer has the effect I need from it. I think another appointment is needed, but don't you just feel like you are becoming a pest, although my GP is fantastic and keeps telling me I am not being a pest and that I should go to see him if only for a chat.
I'm feeling just the same today, woke with hips, lower back and legs in spasm, going to GP tomorrow and not sure where to go next with pain relief. It's good you have a fantastic GP, mine is good but very difficult to get appointments due to receptionists.
have you had a diagnoses sounds like a neurological problem to me maybe me ms md fm cfs have you cat scan do you have morning tiredness
Sounds like you've got a good GP.
Nefopam/Acupan is a good medication for many people.
But even if any 1 med or combo of meds works great for you most of the time, you will likely need additional meds or a different dose, plus other treatments, if you hit a flare. I recently did a blog post on flares.
I'd go back for sure, I know what you mean about feeling like you are always with your GP, but that is what they are there for and if he/she is great then you are ultra lucky,.
Hope your pain decreases and you can get some new meds sorted.
xx
hi ive just found this site on facebook. well ive been in pain for many years now thinking it was arthritus. a few years ago i had xrays done on my joints and they said everything was fine but the pain became unbearable so i went back to the doctors had blood tests done and nothing showed up. now im on medication for all the pain which makes me feel some one is thumping me all over and it really hurts,so i simpathise with you all. i can not work full time anymore because of it and being diabetic as well makes it worse, so finacially it has affected me and my family. has anyone claimed dissability for it ? i have tried and basically they say because i can walk and talk im fine but im not . i think there should be some form of help for us but because there are so many with fibro no one wants to know so who ever reads this will surely know what im saying and talking about so thankyou for reading this.
I've just realised I used to take all 3 acupan tablets in 1 (mornings) go per day.
I didnt feel they worked and I took them for ages.
Do you think it would make a difference if if I took them throughout the day ie 1 in the morning, 1 in the afternoon, and 1 at night?
Thanks for any advice.
Btw they make me feel sick.
Thanks Lynn.
