has anyone heard of performance measurement from dwp who are they? and what do they do, please

Hi, this was an extremely useful link. I've recently had a Performance Measurement visit and they do not really explain what the purpose of it is .My impression of the interview was correct, that it is ostensibly for their internal audit process and national figures. But also the officers are on the look out for fraud, and for over payments etc.

seems they do random checks to make sure payments are correct ect

I had a visit in 2011. They basically are checking up on your circumstances and payments. It's a total pain. If everything you're claiming is correct for your circumstances then you'll be ok.

Did they tell you before hand when they were visiting you? I have to get rest in the early afternoon and may not hear them at the door as I go into a brief but deep sleep. Thanks Shush

I got a letter with a date and time and also the name of the person that was coming. There was a number of the switch board on the letter and I was able to find out more info and I ended up having to change the appointment.

yes had letter but there was suppose to be only 1 but 2 turned up stayed nearly 3 hrs

When you see the very poor statistics for the unsuccessful rate of getting people who are chronically ill back to work and the high cost of this you can only assume that the government aim is to bring discontent and anguish to those most vulnerable while providing unsatisfying lot paid jobs for those employed to do the task.

If the government spent the money instead on supporting the ill to recover and on research into their conditions we would have a far better use of the money.

Hi totally agree with you. The things this government are doing is ridiculous. I am not political but my mother used to say when the conservatives got into power the rich got rich and the poor get poorer. I still think is true. Also the thing they are doing is the old means testing. Are we progressing or going back to the victorian times with them and us.

reply to all I had a visit today the woman lied on the phone,and turned up with her manager kept asking same ? then said they were not investigating fraud but I felt I was being interrogated, I broke down as I didn't understand why they were asking for my benefit details when they should have them, thy ask about savings I offered to phone bank in front of them but they said just send statement, and said im entitled to another benefit I told them to keep it, as I cant take much more im terminally ill and have a disabled child and my son had taken an overdose the night before I was waiting n news from hospital and they stayed nearly 3hs, I was drained and left feeling like I done something wrong these people aint nice, and they do work on fraud to so why they lied I don't know. I was told if you get dla your rent gets paid.

sorry for the long statement but there targeting disabled people. and apparently ESA is means tested I don't understand any of it,all my letters say income support confused .com

i am sorry to hear all your bad news on top of a 3hr nightmare thats just unfair and 3hrs what do they want essays thats stupid esp under your circumstances am disgusted with them.

Hi,

I had a visit from them last week, she came,said she wanted my P60 and a letter confirming when I started early retirement and occupational pension and said that Basildon would be making the decision as to whether I was getting the right amount. So the documents went off today, I just hope they knew about my meagre occupational pension and that I dont get hammered or my benefit stopped. She didnt say it was a random check, infact she hardly said anything but looked just as frightened as me! She said she wasn't here to check on my condition just my payments.

i received a visit this morning ,this is just a quick check on whether you are receiving your correct housing benefit and a check on what savings or other money related stuff you hold ,as for the person who said they stayed about 3 hours ,please stop scaremongering with your drivel ,unless you had stuff to hide and were illegally claiming benefits ,there are plenty of them who get eveybody tarred with same brush .??
