Hi Donna, Have you tried antihistamines, I find Benadryl acravistine works if you take it before bed - or am I right in saying you don't like taking tablets? Sorry. If that's the case you get a magnesium spray in boots but I don't know how good it is.

Do see the doctor about this if you haven't already.

Yes, do see doc if not done so. There are several things that can cause this that need checking out.

Happened to me, but it did need intervention.

Morning Donna, I get that from time to time fortunately in one way that I don't have any one to annoy, it doesn't happen all the time, first I thought. It could have been the meds , med then I would have it every day wouldn't I, so do know what u r going thru, sometimes the itching is like something crawling on my skin, u know like a very small wispy fly, I thought it was to do with the fibro cos it causes many things doesn't it, gentle hugs.... I was like that, but it has stopped now I am not taking meds, I asked my GP at the time if it could be my meds but she didn't think so, but coming off them has proved it was, been off them now 5 weeks, lost 7lbs and brain clearer.

Hi Donna,

I have been the same episode and only thing work out on me is Sweet almond oil. It does work very well and have no any smell or heavy feeling as it is absorb quickly. I had scars all over my body but they all gone. Now only problem I have got when my eyes started get itchy. I don't know what I should do for that.

Morning Donna,

I am not sure how old you are so please don't feel I am being rude . Itchy goes with the perimenopause :-( and if you are old enough for that ( actually starts at about 38/39 years and can take up to 15 before we get menopausal. Sorry, fluffy brain today so please excuse the waffly bitsd.

Hugs

I know how you feel !! for some unknown reason I stated itching all over on 1st feb and have been itchy since !! I have tried 6 different antihistimines from mild ones to the ones a dermatologist uses as a first defence line in itching, but nothing has worked,i went to see a dermatologist in wetherby who said she would write to a dermo at York hospital too see if I could have something known as ultra light therapy, this was in march time , but things are not that simple ,because the first dermo I saw was based at Harrogate hosp and not York ,I had to go back on the waiting list in york, I went to my g.p to see if he could hurry it up as the appoint to see a dermo there was 10th july,!! I got a letter yesterday to say my appoint has been bought forward to the 6th june (by which time I shall just probably be a pile of skin in a corner!!!) so I do sympathize!!!!

It can also be meds. I get it a lot, when its bad I just take antihistamine s they work I take mine about 10 at night an hour before bed xx

gosh I wish I had known before that antihistamines are effective for this - sometimes my hands or feet itch so much I feel as if I could scratch my skin off my bones; it usually happens if I havebruised myself in some way.
