It seems to be a very common thing with fibro, but you should check with your GP, as it could be associated with diabetes or circulatory problems, particularly if your feet are painful as well as hot.

Hello, I agree with ladymoth as burning feet is associated with diabetes as my dad had tis same problem when he was alive and he had diabetes and I have burning feet and toes sometimes and circulatory problems, and I am diabetic also! Aisha x

Just had blood tests again, no diabetes, its an on and off thing but annoying when burning, the funny thing is they feel so cold as well sometimes. Had full blood screening twice in last nine months for lupus especially, but ana negative, I wonder if I just imagine it as one doctor seemed to imply. The funny thing is while all the physical problems are going on, I am trying to have a life. Seems hard to see a funny side sometimes.

Tell me about this one Davinci!!

We try so hard don't we?

Trying to cope with pain and have a life is a bit of a balancing act.

It's like trying to juggle six balls in the air sometimes!!

But we can't give up we have to fight the good fight with all our might and then some.

It's just some days.... We can't help but feel so down of mouth and miserable.

We are only human, flesh and blood.

And not to put too fine of point on it

Today I am not open for business!!

As one doctor said he sees people worse than me, I was only depressed which explained the symptoms I was having and not to focus on the wrong things. It isn't often I was speechless as u can see, All I need is an anti depressant to lighten my mood as he put it and I would be fine. OH YEAHHHH. I can laugh now, but the week after spoke to head of practice and said very politely that it had not been helpful. Talk about are you having a laugh as my son says. Jan

Hi, my friend has burning feet , connected to her spine operation believe it or not. It gets really bad and sometime itches.

I get it when I've had a bath, it's nothing to do with my bath been too hot , they just burn on the soles soo weird . I can't stand anything on my feet whist I'm in bed I have to fluff my quilt over them or have them sticking out of my bed at night I'd rather wear loose sox than have anything heavy or on them.

It's the strangest thing I've been like this for ten years. I even wake up thro the night if my quilt is dragging on my feet, I'm very sensitive to this . I sympathise with you I can't imagine the irritation burning feet can cause on a regular basis , at least my soles stop after an hour or so after my bath.

Hope it doesn't last too long for you,

Joanne

burning/painful/tingling feet is often due to a nerve problem. Diabetics will tends to have circulatory issues, which can lead in turn to problems with the nerves in the extremities and means that foot issues need to be referred to a GP/chiropodist rather than self treatment.

You should always speak to your GP- but they may want to try you with a medication that helps to block or control nerve pain- so something like gabapenin or amitriptyline

Drugs such as pramipexole and roprinirole are also useful where there are other nerve consuction issues such as restless leg syndrome..

I would be inclined to speak to your GP

in reply todoxeysocks

Have spoken to Gp about this as I already have neuropathic pain mainly in arms from cervical problem, he tested me for lupus, I was tested last year for same but negative, I already take Gabapentin amitryptyline and robaxin for muscle spasms in back and ribs, and paracetemol and codeine. Cannot at the moment get on top of this, am due for pain management appointment soon. The diagnosis apart from early onset arthritis due to being hypermobile, is now hymermobility syndrome and fibromyalgia too. I probably have restless leg syndrome , it is difficult understandin that to other people the way my joints are is strange. Occupational therapist tries to explain how not to use my hands too much or overstretch the joints as I have severe arthritis in thumbs and fingers, but it is hard as the way I use my joints is just normal to me. o many things are going on with me at the moment physically, I dont know where to start. Thanks for your reply. Jan

Sounds like you may have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. THIS syndrome is a defect in the collagen all over your body.

I suffer from peripheral neuropathy , which includes 'burning feet, although I am not diabetic. I would recommend you visit the Doctor who will be able to test for diabetes and give you the correct medication depending on the results.

Take care

I have cevical osteophytes and after a 'funny do' with neck have nerve damage in arms also weakness tingling crawling aching etc. paresthesia I think its called and sometimes a similar feeling down legs. I have arthritis in my toes too. At the moment my feet are always either burning or tingling. There are so many big words that medical professions use, I lose track. Between joint aches muscle spasms nerve pain etc etc I am finding it very difficult to feel where pain is coming from. Some people say Gabapentin can cause this burning, but I have been using it for a year and this is much worse recently. I have been tested for diabetes and thyroid , both normal Lupus tests have come back ana negative, Thanks for advice tho. Jan

Jjojay I have exactly the same problem with my feet. Can't stand anything touching them. And leave them hanging out of duvet and over the bed. I also when its cold, lift the duvet up high over the feet. I do think its part of fibro. Let's hope we have a miracle soon x

i have advanced osteoarthritis, and my feet are always on fire in bed, my big toes especially, i carnt bear the covers on them, doc says its part of my condition, they are also painful to walk on ,my heels underneath hurt too, it really gets me down as im hobbling about !!

in reply tominxymare

trouble is if feet are hot and you cool them down I find that the arthritis in my feet goes haywire, Physio told me to use frozen peas on wrist for carpal tunnel syndrome, but then I cant stand pain in hands. Lord have mercy. Jan

I can so relate to that one. Should talk to your gp, I have circulatory problems, as well as arthritis. Do your feet swell up with fluid? I suspect there can be a number of conditions that add to it.

Good luck. x

It could be peripheral neuropathy as I am in sever pain with this as well, Dr should do various blood tests to rule out diabetes. vitamin deficiency etc. I also have a bulging and prolapsed disc that they think could be the cause of this. I take gabapentin 300mg in the morning 300mg in the afternoon and 400mg in the evening .. I also take this to help muscle spasms/severe cramp in my ribs around my back. This knocks me out so I am asleep most of the time, but if I dont take it I cannot bear anything to touch my legs feet or hands. And it is worse at night and cannot bear to have the bedcovers or anything touch my skin. Best get it checked out.
