gabapentin, ear problems?

wondering is there a link with gabapentin and whooshing sound in ears, have had for a couple of months with various viral infections but it seems to have got worse from starting gabapentin? heading to try and have a snooze... sitting up, joy of fibro. x

I have read somewhere that gabapenitin does effect the ears and i always have had buzzing, ringing etc but now i actually find it hard to hear people.

It could be due to the gabapentin so i am intrested to see what everyone else writes.

My ears are that bad sometimes i have to lipread and find it hard to hear on the phone.

hi there i went on pregablin and i couldnt cope with it cause it affected my ears dont know if they are similar drugs xxx

I tried gabapentin about 3 years ago, after a couple dose increases almost all my pain went, I have had fibro for 10 years and i have to say i felt like a spring chicken !! Running around with my girls again, even concentration levels improved. BUT.....and this is a huge but within 3 months id turned into a total recluse, severe depression, sucidal thoughts, it crept upon me until i thought i was losing my mind and the withdrawl was horrific. I know this drug and also Lyrica works well for some but i felt i should should my experience so sad as it took the pain away but caused even worse problems. Stay safe and research the drugs offered to you.
