Hi.

I have been trying for 7yrs to complete my family. But unfortunatley this still didnt happen.

I jave had the range if treatments.. tubal surgery, chlomid, and ivf.

Surgery was the most daunting and painful and the chlomid just gave me mood swings and hot flushes and i gained weight.

Ivf was the most recent attempt, and as i had list all the weight needed for nhs funding.. i started full of hope.

Its hard to inject yourself for the first time. And a little sore when you have to continue doing it. However keeping a picture of what you want in your head really does help. For me i suffered with stomach ache as my folicles grew i didnt get any other side effects. I unfortunatley cant tell u what egg collection is like from persobal experience as they cancelled my ivf due to complicatiins. However i have been told from others it can be painful and they describe it like the feeling of a smear.

However far along yoyr journey you are good luck. If your just starting out i warn you with a kind heart it can be a long battle. Be strong individually but stronger together. The one peroson you both will need is eachother. And as Kelmar said emotionally it is demanding and draining. When i was told my ivf had been abandoned i sobbed for a whole day as if the world ended. Its having the courage to pick up and fight on.

Good luck

Saz :)

Hi. If you have a look at our website infertilitynetworkuk.com you will be able to see lots of information and factsheets about IVF, plus ways which we can support you at this time. Regards. Diane

I got my other half to do my injections, it helped share the load, made him involved and took the stress off me - but it does involve trust.

The actual time around the egg collection is the worst as you are full of hormones and have some pain from the treatment (but that's a general soreness, but less painful than period cramps).
