hi it’s been a long time since I have posted on here however I am now starting a stimulated ovulation induction treatment and I’m looking for some advice. I wasn’t expecting to be on proper stimulation medication but they seem to have overreacted to AMH. Anyway, I started on 75IU/L of ovaleap two days ago, and it came as a surprise to me when asking about the timing of that’s when I mentioned Pilates they told me that I shouldn’t be doing Pilates and in only do walking the entire time that I was on stems. So I have been for three hours per day because I’m trying not to lose the fitness the and the had happened when I was starting couch to 5K previous weeks. But even aside from exercise which I have made my peace with, I’m just wondering at what point I’m not even allowed to do housework? There is washing that needs done, and do I handover today because I’m not allowed to lift a full kettle or a frying pan? For context, I’m already feeling a little bit achy on one side today and I’m still quite bloated which hasn’t gone down since my period started. I also in the second week of stims for IVF previously, got to the point where I could barely walk because I felt my ovaries wobbling inside me. I’m a bit dubious about how I am going to be able to TTC also if I’m not allowed to be mobile…!
what can i do on ovaleap? : hi it’s... - Fertility Network UK
what can i do on ovaleap?

you can absolutely do normal housework like cooking and washings etc the entire time you are on stims just try not to do any really heavy lifting like suitcases or move coaches for hoovering. I had to lift my 20kg 3 year old on stims (and when it worked for most of pregnancy) people still need to live their everyday life but they just ask for that short period not to do intense gym workouts, the exercise advice part is to try and avoid your enlarged ovaries twisting but normal housework won’t cause this just intense exercise. Just maybe delay the more intense cleaning things until after stims like skirtings and high up windows etc but that’s probably just as a precaution. The only thing I was told I couldnt do housework wise was change the cat litter. Hope that helps! Xx
I was very surprised about Pilates because this is the least energetic exercise you can do and only like two moves involve you inverting yourself - I’m pretty sure last time I just did a modified version! Have any of you been on low dose stims for OI? Is it much different by the end? And how long does it take for you to go back to normal after trigger injection? Like surely sex can jiggle your ovaries?
I do already feel my ovaries jiggling. Should I be concerned this is happening so early? It’s hard to know what is period bloating and what is ovaleap induced.
Also my tumble drier does require some twisting - but I really really want clean towels!
It’s defo fine to load your washing machine/tumble drier just take it easy and don’t over think it 🤗 my last few stim cycles I was on full maximum dose of 2 stim types, you just need to be more aware and careful but you. A mostly go about your day to day. Some things are normal nessacities during that time but exercise can usually wait until your ovaries are back to normal so best to avoid that except walking/ light exercise. Pilates I would normally have said was light exercise too tbf but go with your clinics advise of course! It might be the stretching they want you to avoid. if you are in a lot of pain or discomfort contact your clinic but bloating and some discomfort is normal x
I completely agree with Twiglet2 . During stims I actually felt fine but then towards the end I just felt more 'full' (if that makes sense). I exercised for the first 2 ish days (I do strength training and spin) but then I stopped and just did lots of walking. It's the risk of ovarian torsion due to your enlarged ovaries- also note that they stay large after IVF is over too so ease yourself back into exercise even after hormone treatment is over. The main thing to watch is twisting and placing pressure on your uterus. My consultant also said that diverting too much blood away from your ovaries isn't good, so getting super out of breath and doing hard exercise isn't a great idea. They do say swimming is good, but I always get urine infections from chlorine or dirty swimming pools so I stayed away! Hope this helps and good luck x
I continued to ride horses on stims, just took it slow after the first week and didn't leap off, more slid down the horse to get off. Trust your body and do what you feel capable of doing, suggestions of not lifting a full kettle is just ridiculous.
My clinic's advice was if exercising makes you feel good and is good for your mental health then don't stop doing what you love, just be careful and know when to take it easy.
Good luck! x
3 hours walking a day too much? lol! Since it’s all I’m allowed to do (and am capable of)
