I had my egg retrieval yesterday, retrieved 5 eggs…. My recovery has been a lot different from the last time. Waves of nausea (not sure If im going to be sick or need the toilet but constipated) bloating, terrible aching at the bottom of my stomach…
is it possible to have OHSS with little response in follicles? Is there anything I can take for constipation that is allowed?

It could be as a result of the egg collection procedure itself or possibly OHSS. If you’re taking progesterone in preparation for a transfer then that could be contributing too.
Definitely give your clinic a call to let them know. Would def recommend increasing your protein in small meals you can tolerate, and having electrolytes. Prunes were very helpful for me for the constipation. I was told by my clinic that I could take lactulose but tbh I think I could have taken any constipation remedy as I wasn’t having a fresh transfer after my last collection.

Thank you so much for your reply! Will definitely give them a call today. I’m on cyclogest x 3 daily as well as lubion so lots of contributing factors.
Prune juice will be added to my list!! xxx
I have a love hate relationship with cyclogest. I know I need it and I’m thankful for it, but I hate how constipated and bloated I become on it! Soft dry prunes from Holland & Barrett or Amazon are a lifesaver for me.

Remember to drink plenty of fluids as well This can help with the constipation - eat little and often Hope everything settles down soon and the clinic have returned your call

were you given pain relief after the egg collection? I know that codeine (or co-codamol) can cause constipation. This has been an issue for me when I’ve required a bit extra pain relief following the EC. Other than that, as others have said - more fibre in the diet! Whole grains, veggies (and prunes!!). Good luck
