egg collection today - 5 eggs retrieved

hello, just looking for a little reassurance. Had my egg collection today and despite having upwards of large 10 follicles in last scan they only retrieved 5 eggs. This is my third egg collection and the first ones produced 11 and 9 eggs so I’m feeling a little deflated. My AMH has gone down a lot since last cycle which might explain it. Anyone had success with fewer eggs being collected?

I only had 6 collected on my last cycle. Cycle before that i had 19!! I'm now pregnant with one of those special 6 in which 3 made it to blast 🥰 quality over quantity for sure! Huge good luck to you xxx keep positive

Heya,

I just had 5 collected on Monday. I felt a little disappointed as they were hoping for more than the 6 I got last time. 4 of them fertalised and I got a call today and all 4 are doing really well apparently! I’m not sure how many will make it to day 5 but really hoping for at least one to transfer and one to freeze! After my collection I googled for ages but found loads of success stories and lots of people saying quality over quantity! It’s so nerve wracking! Wishing you loads of luck 🤞🏻 xxx

Oh that’s great, so glad to hear you managed to get so many embryos. Yeah keeping my fingers crossed but feeling a bit deflated. I know the whole quality over quantity thing but it’s hard when you don’t actually know anything about the quality at this stage!! All the very best with your cycle - when would your transfer be? Xx

The waiting is so horrible isn’t it. Keeping everything crossed for you that you get some good news tomorrow! Thank you my transfer will be on Saturday. This is my second cycle. The first fresh one I did failed and the second frozen one ended in early missed miscarriage. I think I’ve just felt way more negative this time, so any small piece of good news keeps my spirits up! I hope you have a nice rest this evening xx

Oh thank you. So sorry for all you’ve been through - it’s such a rollercoaster isn’t it? This is my third fresh cycle (1st one no embryos, 2nd one got 3 embryos with a failed fresh transfer, a missed miscarriage in 2nd transfer and 3rd transfer let to my wee girl who will be 2 in Oct). Really hope this cycle brings you success and that your transfer goes well on Sat xxx

Aww you’ve been through so much too! Really wishing you every success! I have a 4 year old daughter from a natural pregnancy and was then diagnosed with severe endo not long after when trying for a sibling. It’s been a long journey but really hoping it works this time And best of luck with your transfer too xx

Roobs33 how did your transfer go yesterday? We had a call this morning to say only one of our embryos is developing properly so we’re doing a 3 day transfer today xx

Yep, I had 3 eggs collected from 7 follicles which at the time I was totally devastated about. But 1 x 5 day embryo became my baby boy 😊 so get those positive thoughts flowing! 🍀

I had 2 on my first cycle and just one on my second. All 3 fertilised, and 2 of the 3 made it to blast. Try not to focus on the numbers (easier said than done, I know!)

I used an egg donor and she had 11 good follicles, but only 6 eggs retrieved, 3 blasts. In her previous cycle she'd got 11 eggs, the clinic just said it happens sometimes, they said something about the way she responded to the trigger but they were quite vague on explanations. Very frustrating!

Hello! Egg collection for me retrieved 7 eggs. I was initially so disappointed as I have a high AMH level. 3 fertilised, 1 made it to Blastocyst (on 2 WW now) and 1 tucked away in the freezer. I had 5 mature eggs and was deflated at first.4 fertilised and 3 of those made it! All AA grades too! Now I just need one of them to stick ✨

Oh that’s great! Only 2 of mine have fertilised so just a waiting game now to see how they develop x

I had 7 but only 2 made it, 2 put back in on day 5, now I have an 18month old. As many say it only takes one! All the best 🤞

Hi, in my case also 7 eggs were collected from which 3 got fertilized, nd from that one was enough to get you pregnant
