Hi everyone, grateful if someone can give me words of wisdom. I’ve just had a bfn but also wondering if the clinic may have given me the wrong protocol. I know we’re meant to trust our clinics but I really am wondering this time.
It was a modified natural FET, I was scanned day 12 and asked to do the trigger on the same day and come back in 4 days later for the transfer (cycle day 16). It all felt too rushed but I didn’t say anything because I wanted to trust the clinic. The correct timing I’ve always been told is 5-7 days after trigger, and my transfer was 4 days after for a 5-day blastocyst.
Grateful for any views, whether I have any grounds to make a complaint or if there are actually any success stories coming out of a protocol like the one I was given (4 days after trigger). I’m going out of my mind
Thanks in advance for any insight xx

Sorry to hear about your bfn x hope you are ok x. will be interesting to see replies on this. I’ve had 8 transfers, (5 no implantation and 2 chemicals) on the 8th I had a medicated FET but the transfer was 6 days after my scan all others were 5 days. I was so exhausted by this stage that I didn’t even question it. That one stuck for the first time (early days still). Not had a conversation with consultant yet but it’s something I would mention when I do x
Thanks for your reply, it’s really hard because we’re meant to trust our clinics but sometimes it’s hard to because we arm ourselves with so much information about the process. To be honest I’m annoyed with myself that I didn’t ask any questions at the time, but I also didn’t want to cause any upset. It’s really hard.
Whispering congratulations, hope all goes well for you xx
I think it’s worng timing . It should be transferred on day 6 not day 5 because that start from day zero to day 5 which is day 6 so day 6 will be your transfer day of day 5 embryos. You can google as well and get information. So your transfer should be on day 18 of your cycle day. You should ask questions from your clinic.
Thanks for your response, I had a feeling it was just too early. I’ve asked for a follow up. The nurses said the doctor may have suspected I’d be ovulating the same day as the scan which may be why it happened this way, but even if it should’ve been 5 days afterwards not 4. I’ll wait to hear from my doctor and have the questions ready.
Sorry to hear this. I had a natural modified frozen transfer and I also triggered on day 12 I think but I went back the day after and the second day after trigger to confirm ovulation so they could time when to start the progesterone. I had transfer a week after the trigger injection and started progesterone and inhixa one day after confirmed ovulation.
Thanks so much for your reply. That’s the timeline I’m familiar with as well and what I’ve been doing the past few transfers, just really surprised about this one. Hopefully I’ll speak to my doctor soon and get some answers.
Just to give an update in case it’s helpful to anyone, my doctor decided to accelerate the embryo transfer timing because I was about to ovulate, and she said that the trigger was optional. I’d like to think that 1 day wouldn’t have made a big difference because it was a natural cycle - I hope I’m right!
