Donor embryo day 5 transfer - when to test?

Hi ladies, I need your thoughts and advises plss…

We finally done first donor transfer on 14 Aug with day 5 embryo and our clinic in Spain has recommended to test on Tuesday, 22 Aug which is day 8 post transfer.

Now my concern is, would the embryo be developed enough to detect hcg? When we done previous fresh transfer and FET in UK, clinics would always recommend to 2 full week regardless if the embryo was day 5 or 3, giving more time for the embryo to develop.

I need to do blood test and send updates to the clinic but I am wondering if HCG is low and clinic says to stop the medication, what should I do? Would that be the right thing to do or ask them to approve me continue take the medications until day 14 post transfer.

I am looking forward to hear your experience and thoughts plsss my dears …

I have been trying to push few other things with them but they were adamant to stick to their protocol…

Thank you so much and sending well wishes and baby dust to us all xoxoxoxo

Hugsss

If its a blood test you should be fine although it does seem earlier than most places. Earliest I've ever had a blood test was 9dpt and it was an accurate result. Can you put it off a day or 2 if that would make you more comfortable? 8dpt would probably be too early for a urine home pregnancy test.

Hi! I did a home urine test at 9 days with my first morning pee and I had a strong positive but i would probably wait to day 9 and the blood test my clinic does on day 11, wishing you all the best

Hi,I know everyone is different, but I did a pregnancy test 7dpt a 5 day donor embryo and had a strong positive. It was an early test clearblue.

I hope that helps.

I had an accurate FRER test 7dp5dt, so a blood test 8dp5dt should give you an answer. Most would ask you to re-test again in two days time anyway. Very best of luck, I hope it's a sticky one :)

not sure why your clinic asked you to do a test so early. Last year, I had my transfer on 26th September and my clinic asked me to do a test on 12th October, it a day5 embryo.

Thank you so much my dears, I guess I am dreading the test like no other time as I had some pain in the first 2 days post transfer but since then no symptoms compared to previous transfers. I had less medications as well but still, not feeling anything has made me not want to test so early…

Thank you so much for your time and sharing experiences xoxo

I will do blood test tomorrow as guided and hopefully 🤞🏻 it will be a good news 😘

Hugss for you all xoxoxo

8dp5dt should nearly definitely show positive if it’s worked. I got a strong positive on 7dp5dt and a positive digital. And if they are taking bloods then it will definitely show if it’s worked. Also if your bloods are low but not zero they will most likely make you repeat it 48 hours later to make sure it’s doubling before stopping any meds etc.

Hope that helps!

day 8 has always been accurate for my on an HPT a blood test would be even more so. Good luck xx
