Ovitrelle instead of progesterone pessaries?

wondering if anyone can help put my mind at ease? New clinic new protocol…. Had EC on Wed and just waiting for update on how things are progressing (last update yesterday was that 4 eggs have fertilised). If any of them make it to day 5 we will be doing fresh transfer on Monday. I did an Ovitrelle trigger on Monday night and they said I’ll do another one (Ovitrelle 250) on Monday following the transfer…. This is totally different from previous clinic where I was on cyclogest pessaries. Is the Ovitrelle instead of the pessaries? Is it normal not to monitor progesterone? I’m feeling anxious because this is our last cycle and I’ve never had success with fresh transfers before…

from my understanding the ovitrelle extra trigger is just adding extra HCG as a boost and shouldn’t be anything to do with the progesterone- I would have thought you should still be on progesterone support too. I would definitely be asking your clinic. Wishing you lots of luck!

We are at similar stages with our wee embryos- I have 3 fertilised on Thursday so just waiting to hear if any make it! Have my fingers crossed for you 💜🤗 yeah Ive heard of double triggers, I think a few clinics are using it now but it isn’t instead of progesterone as far as I know, I would ask why they aren’t prepping you with that at all, they must think on this protocol you are making your own naturally, but even with a short protocol fresh transfer we still have progesterone. Our clinic doesn’t monitor progesterone though so that’s very normal for me but the only time they haven’t given it in prep for transfer was a fully naturally FET xx

Thanks for your reply. I asked them about it yesterday but no one has got back to me. Fingers crossed for your 3! I heard yesterday that we’re down to 1 embryo already and I won’t get another update until Monday so an anxious weekend ahead …

Oh there’s one still going 🤞🏽🤞🏽but yes what an anxious weekend for you I totally hear ya! 🤗

I fully expect a day 3 call tomorrow to say we have none still going but if we only have 1 they will just transfer it tomorrow instead of Tuesday as my clinic do day 3 transfers in those circumstances only so I’m preparing for that too! Xx

Yes I’ve done a day 3 transfer before but this clinic only do day 5 so everything is riding on this one 🤞🏼Crossing everything for you for good news tomorrow xx

Morning-We had 2 still going at day 3 so waiting to hear today if either made it to blast for a transfer today 😬😬😬😬

Keeping everything crossed for you! We ended up with two but neither had reached blast stage but transferred them both as they weren’t suitable for freezing. Not feeling very hopeful x

Oh I’ve just been reading about this online actually and those 2 can defo have success! Sometimes it just takes them a little longer to get to blast stage and the fact one made a bit of a comeback from day 3 almost written off I also saw was a really good sign 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽 got everything crossed for you xx

So the theory behind the extra shot of hCG is that the extra hCG makes your body naturally increase its progesterone levels naturally as well as your own progesterone from the egg collection. Good luck.xx
