Hi all

Due to start estrogen priming and just want to get some more info before we begin. As the question above states I'm worried the estrogen priming will have a negative affect on my upcoming cycle.. any thoughts or experience? X

I did an estrogen priming before stimulation because I used to have folicule that grows too fast and big sometimes that it turns to Cyst, don't worry you will have a scan in day two of your cycle, your ovaries will look calm and then you will begin your injections. Good luck 👍

Hi letro. Just to calm ovaries down so they can check for any cysts before starting stims. good luck! Diane

How did you go? I’m about to start this. Did your protocol include human growth hormone (Saizen?)

So unfortunately for me the priming was a no go .. I seem to function better without the estrogen priming .. I did do testosterone priming. Ended up on last cycle having 12 follies, 10 eggs, 6 mature and 4 blasts .. this was after cycles of 0 .. Best of luck

letro112 Hi letro ….. hope you are well. I was impressed with the blasts you achieved, as I too end up with only 1 dominant follicle with a few slow growing follicles( low AMH of 0.6 pmol) . I start estrogen priming but should that not work, could you explain what testosterone priming is. I hope you are well and youGet your miracle baby xxx

So testosterone can help recruit follicles ahead of stim. If u have very low testosterone it can affect possibly the number of follicles that can respond to the stimulation meds. I had my testosterone checked it was 0.1 .. they like it between 1 and 2 and if possible as close to 2 as possible. I was put on DHEA which increased testosterone really quickly was only on it a couple of weeks before stimming and this was the cycle I ended up getting 10 eggs .. 6 of which were mature and 4 blasts. Next cycle I had my levels checked again and supplemented with alot less DHEA also had less stim meds and got 7 eggs 5 mature and 3 blasts .. so it's def a big improvement from where I started.

I currently have 5 blasts and we are keeping these for surrogacy as I have had alot of CP and MC and all my transfers have resulted in CP also .. so we are hoping out of the 5 hopefully at least 1 will make it with our surrogate

Priming is good quiet the ovary to synchronize better the follicles but is not as aggressive as other medications used in a suppressive phase in some protocols. Best
