hi so a few weeks ago my tsh was 2.44 and doc was like you can stop ur thyroid meds now they are in the normal range and you dont have tpo antibodies. Just to test back in 4 weeks . So i did i tested and my tsh has risen to 2.9 labs say need to be 2.3 . So im actually freaking out its alot
I am newly pregnant after ivf . Started 50 mcg today . And freaking out . Only because im just so exhausted with all the meds now another thing to worry about again . I will test my tsh every 2 weeks now . How long does it take for tsh to come down again? .
If you post in the thyroid U.K. group you will get a lot of support and help.
Have you only ever been tested for TPO antibodies?
My understanding is that when TSH, T4 and T3 are in an optimal range ( ideally TSH closer to 1 than to 2) you have reached the right dose of levo and that’s the dosage you should stay on.
During my last pregnancy I had all possible levels of TSH (I went from hyper to normal to hypo ) and meds had to be adjusted multiple time. while this caused me a lot of stress at the time, things went well and I have a beautiful daughter 💕
With my current pregnancy I have been adding some private blood tests and chased gp for meds review when I have seen values moving
I think there is no need to worry but you will need to monitor your levels throughout the pregnancy. I did that with my last pregnancy. Usually the meds work pretty fast.
In addition, I was advised to change my prenatal to one without iodine because of potentially affecting the absorption and results of the levothyroxine.
