I'm hoping that I might get some reassurance as I'm really freaking out. I'm 6.5 weeks pregnant and last night when I went to the toilet I had blood when I had a wee and since then when I've been to the toilet there's pink blood when I wipe (sorry for tmi) and there's pink on my pad. I have rang the EPU and they said I can.go and have a review with the doctor late morning and they have brought my scan forward from Mon to Sat but it would be good to hear anybody's positive experiences to stop me from losing my mind!! Spotting/Bleeding Early Pregnancy
I know it’s easy for me to say but try not to panic. It’s quite normal to get brown and pink spotting around 6-7 weeks as the womb starts to expand. So glad they are supporting you - hope you get the reassurance you need! Good luck xx
Thank you Daisy, the lady was really nice and I was impressed that they could see me today. Think I'm just even more anxious due to previous losses xx
Hey! I had bleeding at 5.5. At first, it was pink when I wiped and then a few days later I woke in the middle of the night to blood dripping down my leg!! It was terrifying. I went for a scan the next day at EPU and they saw the yolk sac and what looked like a fetal pole. This was normal so early. They could see a sub-chorionic haematoma, which is where the bleed came from. I went for a scan the next week though and there was that little flickering heartbeat. I am now almost 11 weeks and last saw my baby at 10 wiggling around. Bleeding is really really common. Nearly everyone I follow on IG who has had a recent ivf bfp has bled. I hope your scan Saturday reassures you. Xxxx
Thank you so much for the reassurance, I always tell myself not to google and have read good and bad outcomes but I do keep trying to tell myself it can be normal. I had felt really positive up until last night but hoping the doctor can give me some reassurance and my scan!!
Congratulations on your pregnancy, hope it is going well xxx
You got to remember your body is stretching and lots of changes .Please don’t panic I was the same when I was pregnant on noah convinced it was something else .Your probably still spotting love as it’s early days .Hope all goes well hunny thinking of you xxxx
Thank you hun for the reassurance, it's never easy is it. I had been keeping really positive but as you say my body going through a lot of changes xxx
Hey Claire,
Firstly congratulations on your pregnancy ❤️ I had a huge bleed with my pregnancy that lasted between 6-14 weeks and still had a successful outcome. It was terrifying at the time as I bled heavy red blood everyday. I was on blood thinners that probably didn’t help. It did however resolve and my little just turned 1.
I realised whilst frantically researching at the time that bleeds are not that uncommon, especially with IVF pregnancies.
I really hope it all goes well for you and the scan shows your little bean is nestling in nicely. Best wishes xxx
Apologies Jen, my message below was to you and not myself!!
Thank you xx Congratulations to you on your little one, that must have been really frightening especially as it lasted for so long but great to hear that you had a successful outcome. I'm also on blood thinners as I've had a MMC and 2 chemical pregnancies in the past. I just want the scan now xxx
Hey honey, you didnt say!! I'm here for you still. 🤗 Sorry you're having this nightmare but please take some heart from me. Although mine was mostly brown there was pink too. Hopefully it's just a little settling in bleeding.xxxx
Appreciate it huni, your fantastic message is giving me hope xx
I had a bad bleed at 10 weeks. Before this I had spotting of different coloured blood pink, dark red, brown etc. I also had stringy clots too. I paid for a private scan because I had to wait to long for a nhs one. Everything was fine and I had a successful pregnancy. My mum has 3 children and early bleeds in each of her pregnancy. I was told by Dr that usually with miscarriage you have stomach pains. Just go along to your appointment and try not to think too negative until otherwise news. It is alot easier said than done though. Hopefully like the other posters the bleeding will settle down. Once you get to the 12 weeks things usually become alot easier though.
Thank you for messaging me, it's really reassuring to hear yours and the ladies other experiences, I think you just automatically think the worst but glad to hear you had a successful pregnancy.
I have been to the EPU and they examined me, they could see the pink blood but no active bleeding and my cervix was still closed so hoping it will be ok, I am going back for a scan on Saturday x
It sounds positive xx
I had a huge bleed at 7 weeks and they couldn't see anything on a scan. A week later we got a heartbeat but I continued to spot until around 13 weeks. Luna is now a crazy 18 month old. Thinking of you. x
I can't believe she's now 18months old, how is she getting on? I remember at the time messaging you as we were both going for scans at the same time, it's so scary though isn't it, I didn't realise how common it is. Were you on pessaries? I think maybe it could be due to that, even though everything was great at the scan I'm still feeling a bit anxious as I'm still spotting x
Hi Clairenix, sorry I have just seen this. Your scan is today I then? Judging by all the encouraging responses you have had on here I think you will be fine. Want you to know I will be thinking about you today as you're bound to be nervous. Were all holding your hand as you climb on that examination table. X
