Ovaries responding differently

Hi everyone,

I’m now in the first ivf cycle and this morning had my day 8 stims scan (on menopur) and they nurse was please with lining (10mm) and my right ovary (7 follicles all 15/16/17/18/19mm) but on my left she said nothing much was happening (3 follicles 2 at 10mm and 1 at 16mm). She said it wasn’t usual and didn’t seem too worried, gave me my booster and now planning egg collection for Wednesday!

Super nervous about the egg collection itself but, now I’m home, overthinking the non-responding ovary. What’s that about? Has that happened to anyone else? Should I be concerned?

Best of luck to everyone on their journeys x

Hi

I had something quite similar, my left was quite a bit behind than my right. I can’t remember the exact amount of follicles on each as it was back in April but we collected 8 eggs.

This whole process can be abit of a mind game and have u doubting everything but try not to worry as ur right is showing very good numbers.

Best of luck xx

Mind game is exactly right! Thank you x

Almost all my eggs were collected from one ovary on my third round. I still got more mature eggs than on my other two rounds. I think it just happens sometimes.

I was the same boat where one ovary wasn’t really producing much follicles. So they increased my dose and in total they managed to collect 16eggs. All the best for egg collection ❤️ xx

I was in the same boat a few weeks ago, one ovary didn't respond at all but they managed to collect 8 eggs in total. 3 made it to blastocyst! All the best xx

Yep it's totally normal my doctor said it's completely random. I think first round inhad alot more on my left..,this round I had 9 eggs collected from my right and 5 eggs from my left. You've got some good sized follicles there and those 10s just might catch up! All the best for your egg retrieval xxx

I had exactly the same, my right ovary didn't do much, 1 tiny follicle but my consultant wasn't worried and joked that it was being lazy this month. The fact he wasn't worried meant I didn't worry. X good luck x

Hi Tina

Try and stay positive. I am having my egg retrieval procedure tomorrow. I reckon you will have lots of eggs in the one ovaries that has responded to the injection. Its all about the quality of the eggs.

My ovaries reacted differently too! No idea why but the left side seemed to be a bit lazy. Good luck.xx
