have been on oestrogen 3 x2 mg and one oestrogen patch 1 every 3 days .
Its my second fet the last failed with a 3bb
For context 27 with pcos lost my first baby to birth defecrs at 21 weeks who was a fresh transfer.
Im feeling very overwhelmed and horrible on the oestrogen. My last transfer attempt was a year ago now . We had our last embryo and failed . So we did a new ivf this june . I have my cd 10 scan this friday and im just overall scared about everything .
Just wanted to reach out and say so sorry about your loss from your fresh transfer.
I also have PCOS and have done one fresh and one frozen transfer and also struggle with the side effects of oestrogen, it’s tough. It made me feel grotty and hugely impacted my ability to sleep. Think we have naturally lower oestrogen and so when we take these doeses it’s quite a lot for our bodies to adjust to. Hoping to do a FET later this year and aiming to only use patches as it’s supposed to be more naturally absorbed.
Best wishes on your journey. Hope you start feeling better soon
I'm so sorry for the loss (I experienced a 21 week loss also).
I have PCOS too and had 2 fets that were fully medicated on oestrogen and really struggled with sleep, mood, and overall feeling in my body. In the end my RE and I decided to switch to a modified natural, where I took letrozole, stim meds and a trigger shot to ovulate and time transfer from there (I don't ovulate on my own). It felt much better to not be on oestrogen. Not sure if that's what did it, but the third transfer has stuck so far (14 weeks).
When I was on oestrogen, I tried to do more yoga and sitting in silence much more to try and relax. I also stopped bringing my phone in the bedroom and didn't read in bed anymore either. I know they are small things but they could perhaps help on the margins. Wishing you lots of luck on your journey.
