Hi all, does anyone know the general guidance on how long progesterone and estrogen are recommended following a successful FET? On some of the general paperwork my clinic gave me, it states 8 weeks but this seems way too low? Let me know your thoughts as I think I might try and argue this if they try and stop my medication before 12 weeks. Bear in mind I’m NHS funded and I have had no blood tests following my positive test to confirm hormone levels etc. thank you!

FET meds query
Hi there, I just finished a FET cycle and they told me I'd be on the oestrogen until about 8 weeks and everything else (cyclogest, lubion and clexane) until 12 weeks and possibly longer if the midwife/obstetrician wanted me on it it longer. (I'm going through a private clinic not NHS). Hope this helps! Xx
It depends on your clinic. At my clinic, the norm is stopping the medication by 8 weeks because this is the time when the placenta is supposed to take over. If there are medical reasons, however, they will extend this to 12 weeks. Very best of luck!
my clinic is 12 weeks for all of it (progynova, progesterone and clexane) xx
My clinic said by 8 weeks the placenta is producing enough progesterone, but I’d stay on it till 12 weeks just to be safe. I ended up on it till 16 weeks as I had spitting and NHS consultant said I met the criteria for him to prescribe, although it was my choice not a necessity.
Mine is 12 weeks too. I've just stopped oestrogen and progesterone. X
Hi, my clinic stop meds at 12 weeks. But the nurse explained to me that it’s believed you only need meds until 10 weeks but they give you an extra 2 weeks just in case (Care Fertility) x
My clinic always told me to carry on taking progesterone and estrogen till 12 weeks
