Hoping for some advice on acupuncture on FET day. This is my second round of IVF following a failed first round and previous miscarriage at 8 weeks (following 3 years TTC & laproscopy). I have endo & rheumatoid arthritis and have been trying to throw everything at this round as it is our last with NHS funding. I have been having acupuncture since December, my acupuncturist has recommend I have the 'Paulus Protocol' which means treatment directly before and after my FET. However, I've been driving myself crazy by totally over-researching the effects of acupuncture on FET, about half of the studies say it has a positive impact, a quartet say no impact and the other quarter say that it has a negative impact. I'm in complete decision limbo and would really love some advise. Has anyone had acupuncture on the day of FET before? If so, did you have it before and after or just before? All experiences and advice very welcome! Thanks everyone x

I'm no expert but I've also booked in an acupuncture session the day before egg transfer. My research says that it's extremely beneficial to do this as it helps with blood flow. I'm not sure how it could have a negative effect though..so I'm going to follow this post to learn more. I'm sure you're fine and it can only be a positive move for you. Wishing you all the best and do keep us updated 🙏🏽

I'm nit expert but my experience was that , I did ivf 3 times without acupuncture and none works, this time I tried and had 4 sessions during stims and before and after transfer and I'm currently pregnant. I also had the fries 🍟 this time but no pineapple and pomegranate juice. But you can always follow your heart
Hi lovely,
I had acupuncture before and after at least 3 of my transfers and none of them were successful.
The only successful one was done without any acupuncture at all during treatment.
However I don’t have endo and I think the reason for our FETs not working was my immunity. So I think if you have acupuncture in conjunction with other treatments it may be beneficial but as a stand alone treatment it won’t necessarily make your FET work…
Xx
I’ve been having acupuncture for years now. I’ve had it the day before FET but not bothered after. My acupuncturist said the most important is before to get the blood flowing. After you end up rushing and stressing, she said go home and chill instead. No BFP so far…… 🤞🏼. Good luck x
Hi
Last time round I had an acupuncture session the day before transfer and the day after transfer and had a positive result.
This time round I had acupuncture the day before transfer and the day of transfer too. I had my transfer in the morning then acupuncture around 4:30pm on the same day. I’m still in my tww so will keep you updated with the result.
I think it’s best to do what you feel is best and go with your gut. Speak to your acupuncturist about your concerns as she may have some positive stories to tell you too.
Wishing you all the very best 💕🤞🏽
Hi it is a hard one to say for sure, I did not have any acupuncture with my failed transfers but I decided to give it a try on the last transfer and had a positive result resulting in a pregnancy😊. I am not sure if it works for sure or not but I had two amazing acupuncturists both specialising in fertility, I had one in the UK and one in Spain when I went to do my transfer, had a session before and after the transfer.
More than enacting tbey kept me positive and calm and I really looked forward to the sessions ❤️
Wishing you the best of luck in your journey 😊
