Failed FET

So I tested this morning with a big fat negative. Just had my bloods done at the clinic. Pretty disappointed with the result. My embroyo was PGT tested and the embryologist was feeling very positive about it. Just goes to show looks don’t mean much. I have two frozen embryos left and I know I should be so grateful but I’m feeling pretty deflated right now. I’ve tried two rounds of IVF in the last 6 months to try bank some more but this failed miserably due to age. So I decided to transfer a frozen. Feel like these two are my last chance of giving my son a sibling. My son was born from the same cycle as the two frozen embroyo’s. My age was 36 when I collected those eggs.

Clinic said I can transfer straight after my next bleed. I keen to know what others have done and if there is any negative reasons not to transfer the following bleed? Would be grateful for any advice or stories please. X

My first FET failed. I went straight for the 2nd FET. I'm successful in my 2nd FET. 🙂

Hi. Sorry to know you are feeling deflated. It can be hard to overcome the disappointment. Please give yourself some time to recover emotionally as a positive mind set is of utmost importance.Do you think giving yourself a three months' time in order to prepare your body for transfer is an option? If there's any known reason for implantation failure (like lining thickness, blood clot disorder), they can be explored meanwhile. I saw a post on here for a link to Implantation failure causes by Dr Tim Child. It was quite informative. You can search him on Instagram and see if you find any expert guidance there that can help you decide.

Best of luck💐

Thank you for your message. I managed to speak to my consultant today and he’s reassured me everything was positive with my levels and lining. He has put it down to the embryo. Feeling a little more positive and I’m going to go again next month. I dont think I could be more prepared. Thank you for the info on Dr Tim Child, I will look into this. X

I hope you don’t mind me asking, but why did your consultant put it down to the embryo if it was PGTA tested? Wishing you the best of luck for the future x

Thank you, Don’t mind you asking. Being PGT tested it was always a 70% chance it would have taken. He said there are still things with embroyo's we yet can’t test or is unknown. Everything else with the transfer was good, so he’s put it down to the embryo. I got the unlucky 20%. X

I got my BFN today too, although double checking tomorrow on my OTD but sure it failed. Thinking of you. I have two little Frosties and wondering when I will next go again. Wishing you all the best x

Unfortunately each case is different and if it works is more down to luck than anything. Go with what your most comfortable with and will have no or least regret about x

I am so sorry to hear your news. Most on here will be able to sympathise with the disappointment, sadness, rage and general crappy feeling you are experiencing. It's not pleasant and you have all my hugs. My first FET failed with my top pga tested egg. They looked at my lining and gave me prp treatment and a hysteroscopy before my next transfer, straight after my bleed which was bfp. My son was born last year.

I just had my last embryo transfered on 26th Feb and it failed. Same protocol as before. I was and am devastated.

Trying to gently persuade my hubby to go again but at 41 I am not sure what the chances are of getting a decent quality egg to fertilise let alone test! What age are you?

Thank you for sharing your story! Sound like you have been on a similar journey to me. I’ve had a hysterectomy and all was clear this time round. I’ve not heard of PRP I will look into this.

I’m really sorry to hear your last embryo didn’t take. I can only imagine how devastated you are. Hopefully your hubby will be on the same page and you can try again. It’s all so exhausting on the mind and body so I understand it’s a big decision.

I’m 40 in July. The two recent rounds I did I wasn’t getting enough eggs expected for my age. Consultant said he would expect me to be getting slightly more. I got 7 on the first round and 6 on the second. First round gave me two top embroyo's I didn’t test them and decided to put them both back in but that was a negative result. Second time I got 1 which didn’t survive the PGT testing. I’m glad I tried as I would be thinking what if. If it comes back to it, I will try one more time. X

I am already thinking what if and if I don't try I will always be thinking it. Men think differently though and I know he was happy to finally be drawing line under it and moving on after four years. I am just not there yet.I will start with amh testing again and see how much it has dropped. DE's wouldn't be for me so I need to know if there is a point to trying and wait and see if I can persuade him from there!

At 38 I got 9 and 7 from two egg collections. 7 made it to 5 day and 3 survived testing. That seems low by comparison so I am hoping they can max out my meds as I only have one go!!

Fingers crossed it all works out for you and your AMH bloods come back at a good level. The positive is with your numbers you did get embroyo's that survived. Wish you all the luck in the world and hope you get the chance to try again!! X

hello, has your clinic suggested steroids pre transfer? I’m 42, 2 chemical pregnancies and starting stims for first ivf round now. I had tests with tommys clinic in Coventry for my implantation failure worries, and prednisolone prescribed from a few days before transfer, through to 12 weeks. If not looked into, might be an idea

Hello, no they haven’t mentioned this. I’m guessing as I’ve been pregnant before they think it can happen again. I will ask when I go in. Thank you.
