Thin lining day 9

Hi everyone had my second scan yesterday for my unmedicated FET. My lining was only 4.7mm and they said it was a little thin . I’ve had a faint line on an ovulation test so worried it’s going to be a cancelled cycle . But they’ve given me vagifem and I’m going back tomorrow. Did anyone try raspberry leaf tea and if so where did you get it? And the beetroot juice which one would you recommend? And I’m taking impryl does anyone take that an takes l’arginine as well? Sorry for all the questions x

Hope all goes well tomorrow and vagifem helps The lining can thicken quite quickly in a couple of days Try the health food shop for the raspberry tea - pomegranate juice it also thought to help

Thinking of you

My lining was too thin two cycles in a row and my transfer was cancelled. The third time I tried beetroot juice every day (or fresh beetroot in salad), vitamin E supplements, L-arginine supplements and two tries of acupuncture. It reached 6.3mm- just about on the verge of acceptable. I’ve no idea which, if any, of these things worked… I also had the scan done by someone different so I’m sceptical that it may just have been a different angle: but I suppose it’s worth a try! Good luck and I hope you get the magic you need

Did your transfer work when that happened? If my lining is not thick enough Tommorow I will have a cancelled cycle . I’m coming to terms with at the moment and see what happens tomorrow x

Hi- sadly no it didn’t. We only found out today. We don’t know if that was the reason but it was an AA embryo so can’t help but think it might be my body failing rather than the embryo being faulty. Although they do say only 1 in 3 work even in the best scenario so could just be bad luck. We’ll wait to see what our clinic say. They did say I ought to have a hysteroscopy to rule out any damage to the lining but I’ve never had any infection or operation so I decided not to- and then it got to 6.3 mm so I think that probably means it’s OK. The clinic I am with have 6mm as their minimum to go ahead. Anyway, will see what they say. It’s all very stressful isn’t it? Every step seems another rollercoaster

I’m so sorry that it didn’t work out . Did you have your embryo tested. I really hope you’re ok though it’s such a hard journey xx

No we didn’t have the embryos tested- we are using donor eggs so the donor went through quite a lot of genetic tests, and then we are leaving the rest to fate. I hope I will be OK soon- not feeling very OK at the moment but will get through it soon. Hope your scan goes well xx

Thank you . It’s not looking hopeful and I had a big cry . But as you said I will get through it . I know there’s nothing I can say to make you feel better but thinking of you xx

Hey, are you taking the vagifem orally or vaginally? I always suffered with thin lining and the only thing that seemed to work for me was to insert 1 extra estrogen tablet vaginally (I was already taking 12mg orally) on my next scan my lining shot up to 7/8mm which was huge for me and it worked. Best of luck lovely Xxx

Vaginally and nothing else yet .. I must have missed the memo about all the juices and tablets and no nurses or doctors advised anything , I think if it gets cancelled I will do all of these .

If it gets cancelled, ask your clinic about PRP, I was struggling with thin lining and they did a PRP transfer into my womb and the next month my lining was 10.3 at day 10 - the consultant was shocked but it obviously makes a huge difference because it regenerates the lining. I was also drinking red raspberry leaf tea every day, beetroot juice and pomegranate juice, vitamin E tablets and hot water bottle on my tummy for 20 mins every day x

Hey that sounds amazing! I’ve constantly struggled with thin lining and have looked into PRP. Do you recommend anywhere to have it done? I can’t seem to find many places in the uk that offer it for thin lining. Thank you xx

My clinic did it - I was with the Evewell, Harley Street x

Aww thank you for replying. I’ve heard amazing things about this place actually. Will look into it. Hope everything is working out well for you! All the best xx

I’m thinking of changing clinics to the Evewell if another cycle gets cancelled x

Hey, congrats on your pregnancy! I’m also looking at doing PRP to help my thin lining. My doctor has suggested doing it in the cycle before an FET. Is this what you did? Xx

Hello Yep we did a transfer the same month which sadly failed and then another transfer two months later and currently 24 weeks pregnant from then (and my lining was 10.3mm on day 10 that month) x

Ah that’s great to hear, I wasn’t sure if it only lasted the month that it’s applied! I’m going to give it a go.

My lining is my biggest hurdle, so it’s lovely to see you have had success with PRP Xx

Yeah it really made a huge difference - I think it actually regenerates the whole lining so definitely worth it - good luck! X

I wish I had known all of this. There is so much information out there and also so may remedies etc , I get so bogged down in it all. Thank you. Is it worth continuing with the beetroot juice etc after trigger injextion?

Emzy12580 profile image
Emzy12580 in reply toLemons1986

Yes I did a mixture of beetroot and pomegranate juice every day until positive test (had to mix because beetroot is yuck on its own!)

Lemons1986 in reply toEmzy12580

Ok if I’m lucky today I’ll buy both! Do you have the brands of the tea and juice you used? Sorry to ask!

Pomegranate juice was pomegreat from Sainsbury's (not from concentrate) and I think the beetroot juice was biona (ordered on ocado) but I know Holland and Barrett do one too. Red raspberry leaf tea was Holland and Barrett too and I used two teabags in each cup but stopped the day before transfer because it can weaken cervix so you don't want that x

You will need slightly more pom juice than beetroot juice to make it taste good! 😂

I took beetroot juice everyday for one month, vitamin E, and L, arginine then my lining went from 4.5mm to 6.5mm, and i used it for my third trial and it worked, currently 14 weeks gone, sending you hugs and hope yours will be successful too ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Thank you . I’m expecting a failed cycle . Unless the vagifem has miraculously worked .
