Viagra for thin lining?

Dear all,

I know this has been asked before (by someone else) but perhaps there are some new reports out there, so I am asking again. I am considering trying Viagra (vaginal pessaries) this month to see whether it may help with the lining thickness. Has anyone tried it before (vaginally), and if so did it help? Did it give you any side effects?

I am still waiting to hear from the clinic about the type/brand...etc. If you used it, what did you use (and how much did it cost)?

Thanks as always and love to all XXX

I've known of a couple of ladies taking this and read up a bit about it. I have only beard the outcome of one lady to hear how she got on. It was a last minute medication before embryo transfer and didn't help. However as you know, what works for one of us doesn't work for someone else. I do think it's worth hearing what your clinic have to say!xx

Thanks! The clinic says they have had positive results... Unfortunately they just mentioned this to me today when I told them my period has started, it might already maybe too late to get some. I am also curious whether anyone has had side effects from vaginal pessaries. At least one person in this forum tried it and had headaches and nausea, not sure if it was by taking oral or vaginal though. I would have thought that by skipping the oral way the side effects would be limited.

Lots of positive thoughts for you, you are always to helpful. :-) XX

Vanna it’s not too late to take it. My oral tablets were commenced on day 5 of my cycle for 4 days but as I said I was terribly ill with thunderous migraine and i’m not sure it made much difference. Lining got to 8mm but on a natural cycle got to 9mm. Take advice from your clinic, i’m sure you’ll be ok without it!! All it does is stimulate blood flow so you could take a baby aspirin 75mg daily. My friends take it when ttc and had success but obviously check with your dr/clinic to ensure it’s safe for you first, certainly less side effects than Viagra xxx

Thanks Natalia. They recommend I take 25mg 2 or 3 times a day, but not orally. I think the side effects might be fewer if taken vaginally. I might give it a try. Will let you know how it goes. Obviously a bit wary... Before the HRT my lining was 7.3mm so it may well be that I cannot get to 8 without help. Anyway... crossing my fingers again now! I have high hopes for this cycle. :-)

Good luck!! I’ve had bfp’s with linings of 7mm some clinics go ahead even with 6mm as long as it’s triple layered. The embryo finds the best area to implant. Really hope everything works out great Vanna xxx
