Hello, I'm new here... Started our IVF journey beginning of 2022 and failed first frozen embryo transfer in May.
Following failed transfer, our doctor mentioned in the call that I could try taking 75mg baby aspirin per day for my next FET cycle.
While googling articles about baby aspirin in FET, I found many articles are saying aspirin and vitamin E can both improve the blood flow in uterus. And some IVF clinic's website even specific mentioned don't take vitamin E if you are on aspirin (probably because it will be too much?).
I've checked my daily supplement already contains 200mg vitamin E so I am worried.
Should I take baby aspirin on top of that? Wondering if anyone has similar experience with this?
(I've not been diagnosed with any uterus blood flow issues and my linings generally look good and thick).
Appreciate any replies and suggestions!

I took baby aspirin 75mg off my own back as id had previous failed and heard it was good for the blood flow to the uterus and it didn’t cause me any harm it actually was a successful transfer and I’m 30 weeks now, I’m under consultant care to and told the midwife and consultant I was taking it and my consultant advised me to carry on with it up until the birth of my baby, as it’s good for blood flow to the baby’s placenta and can stop pre eclampsia etc xx
I think perhaps wait for your doctor to advise about aspirin, there are just as many articles against aspirin before transfer and there are for - I think it just depends on your individual case. Studies have changed and a lot of fertility doctors don’t recommend it now. I had 2 different consultants tell me not to take aspirin as studies have changed (their words), I think it depends if your individual medical needs? Good luck xx
Thank you, BettyBe! You are right - everyone’s situation is different.
My doctor did suggest it. But I was still worried that’s why I did a lot of googling (I normally have heavy period, which makes me a bit more hesitant to take it).
Anyway, I decided to give it a go now as my doctor has confirmed it is ok to take it with vitamin E.
Conversely, I had a failed transfer and the doctor didn’t know why. We were only offered an ERA but given I’d had a normal womb biopsy this seemed unnecessary. I changed from a medicated to naturally modified transfer, taking naturally occurring folic acid (opposed to synthetic) and having acupuncture. The naturally modified had only progesterone as the supplement which I stopped at 8 weeks on advice. I never took anything else and this was the successful transfer and I’m about to give birth any moment. My blood flow was exceptional and I was not at risk of pre eclampsia - I get that every woman is different but I wouldn’t start taking something unless I know I needed to in case it upset the equilibrium
Thanks for sharing the positive story! It is amazing it worked on a nature cycle.
We weren’t offered any test after failed FET (doctor says it is just chance, which I really really hope is the case).
We hoped our doctor could suggest some tests to rule out other risk factors but she said there isn’t anything necessary at this stage. The only thing she suggested is baby aspirin (she didn’t say why so I did a lot of googling! ).
I do trust her in general as she is very experienced. I think she wouldn’t have suggested if it is not suitable for my case. I will give it a try even though it might just increase chance by a little!
☺️ thank you - I was confident my body did know what to do… I didn’t feel good on the oestrogen. Acupuncture is good as it helps blood flow to the uterus. To be honest they offered the ERA but said it was just one of those things that it hadn’t worked which is why I switched from medicated to naturally modified. Fair enough if you think it might help. I doubt it does much harm - the only thing that confuses me about baby aspirin is that aspirin is a NSAID which you’re not allowed in pregnancy. So it has confused me why it’s okay in this case (and I know it’s fine for many). If someone can answer why I’d appreciate it 😁All the best with your next try! X
Hi neverdance. Most specialists are aware that ladies take a pre-conception vitamin tablet daily, so I wouldn't worry too much. Just check with your clinic to make sure. The low dose aspirin is to ensure a good blood flow to the womb and its lining and hopefully prevent any clot formation. Good luck! Diane
Thanks Diane. You are absolutely right! I am a worrier, after a lot of googling, I am getting more and more confused so raised this question to my doctor and she said it is not a problem. I am relieved now
