Vaginal microbial test -two bacteria are higher. Any experience with treatment, recovery and impact on ivf/icsi ?

Hi all, I performed a vaginal microbiome test and the results show a higher level of Prevotella bivia and Ureaplasma urealyticum.

Since these bacteria can have a negative impact on fertility ( implantation failure, bacterial vaginosis, sperm health), yesterday I contacted my consultant and today I will ring the GP. I understand that my husband and I should get antibiotics to get treated and avoid reinfection.

Anyone has experience with this similar situation in terms of symptoms, course of treatment and recovery? Any impact on the following ivf/icsi cycle ? Thank you!

hey, you could do the antibiotics then balance activ and probiotics but see what your GP says. Could you let me know where you did the test and how long it took to get results? X

I had BV prior to my second FET. They didn't test the bacteria that caused it but gave me a week of oral antibiotics (metranidazole) and told me to take concurrently and for a week after vaginal probiotics (Canesfloor). The FET worked. Very best of luck!
