They found my endometrioma on my right ovary has increased to 5.45cm. The clinic said I can have transfer as the cyst wont impact implantation but it might be a problem if it ruptures in the future. I have contacted my GP to try to get a lap but have no idea how long the waiting time might be. Can anyone tell me? I'm in West London. Should I have lap first? Clinic said it's up to me. Lap will impact ovarian tissue but I am not using my own eggs so I don't really care.

Should I go ahead with transfer despite endometrioma 5.45cm on right ovary
I had a cyst on my ovary about 4cm when I had my transfer. Unfortunately I got BFN but I don’t think this was due to the cyst. Nhs for laps is a long wait list I would prob do this transfer and maybe look at more surgery before next transfer if this one isn’t successful. There is no reason why this emby won’t stick it’s safe in the womb it’s the outside that’s the problem xxxx good luck 😉
Hi rainbowhope
I have 2 endometrioma one on each ovary one is 4cm and the other is 5cm I went ahead with treatment and I’m currently 38wks pregnant I would definitely go ahead with transfer as they don’t impact implantation hope that helps.
Good luck for treatment and all the baby dust in the world xXx
My fertility journey luckily hasn't seen me go down the route of IVF, instead I've had luteal support. I conceived with an egg from the side with a large 5cm cyst and my daughter is now 16 months old. As far as I'm aware the cyst is still there. I'm currently 16 weeks with my second cyclogest baby, this time from the side with multiple mini cysts (pco not pcos). Personally I'd go ahead, I'm too impatient to wait for the surgery! Wishing you the best of luck x
Waiting times depends on your ccg. I had an endometrioma on my ovary. Ive got endo everywhere so cant eliminate it before treatments. First fresh round bfp, fet bfn
I have 3cm and 4cm endometriomas on my right ovary and am currently 18 weeks pregnant so I agree with the other ladies above I don’t think it will impact your chances. It is hard when there’s always something that crops up and feels like a set back. I wasn’t on any pain from the cysts so went ahead with the transfer. Also I had surgery to remove the endometriomas but they just came back after a few months so you might go through the lap and then be in similar situation again. Good luck I hope everything works out for you.
Thank you to everyone for this advice. I'm going to go through with it anyway.
Hi Rainbowhope, slightly off topic but I had an endometrioma that they discovered in June last year. I bought some caster oil and did caster oil packs regularly and when I started my next cycle just before Christmas my clinic couldn't see the cyst any longer. I was also strongly advised against having my cyst removed as that could have seriously diminished my ovarian reserve further. Good luck x
