Hi All, looking for some advice. I had a frozen transfer last week (our last one) abroad and the clinic advised to test this Friday coming (12th).
Given all the expenses and work, I couldn't stay abroad any longer so I am now in the UK and I am trying to figure out my options about testing on Friday.
Last time we did a transfer, I tested privately but the results came back after 6 working days which was a torture as it ended up in a chemical pregnancy. This is was my third miscarriage and I don't think that I can wait this time 6 days before I get the results.
How anyone else had an ivf abroad but tested in the UK with a provider that gives the results back quickly?
Would NHS do the test ?
Many thanks,
M

Hello! I also do my treatment abroad and have to test when I'm back in the UK. Where are you based? I am based in Reading and found a private GP in London which does same day results (they are also quite cheap), I can send you their details if that helps. Best of luck!
Ah that a shame! I totally get your frustration! I hope someone will have some recommendations for Scotland. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞☘️
Ask your GP. I’m lucky mine will agree to do mine for me. I had the test on Friday OTD and results were there when I called Monday afternoon. Good luck. Sending lots of positive sticky vibes your way x
I will give that a try.... just worried that they will say no but I have nothing to loose. Thank you so much for the positive vibes. Wishing all the best wherever you are in this journey x
fingers crossed for you. Honestly I just stick to peeing on a stick the private blood tests and the delays in them just stressed me out more, especially with chemicals/miscarriage, not to mention the expense since there’s nothing we can do to change the outcome anyways I just do at home urine ones now xx
Thank you... I am just really really afraid of facing another BFN. Have had already 3 miscarriages (early and late) so knowing the level of the HCG will put my mind at ease.
On that note, today I have no symptomps (had sore breasts and cramping yesterday) and I already feel that I am out. Not coping very well ATM...
It’s personal preference for sure! I would just rather find out instantly in the comfort of my own home rather than pay a fortune to wait for ages on a private test or even for GP results over a phone.
Personally symptoms haven’t meant a lot to me I’ve had loads of symptoms with my miscarriages and even negatives! but nothing until about 6-7 weeks with my only successful pregnancy so please dont count yourself out yet lovely 🥰
