Hycosy done, a ‘lovely, thick endometrium’ according to the specialist. We could see an egg ready to release in my right ovary, the dye flowed ‘nicely’ through my tubes and he has told us that he wants us to ‘go for it’ this month!!!
We’ve been trying to conceive for nearly 2 years and pushed ahead as we’re early 40’s. The NHS had told me I wasn’t ovulating after my blood tests didn’t ever show the score they looked for (even though Clearblue digital said I did every month) and the NHS consultant at our local IVF unit told us he thought we’d never conceive naturally so we went to a local private clinic for a second opinion and possible IVF as we don’t qualify for NHS IVF.
Just goes to show you shouldn’t give up and that sometimes the extra technology private clinics can use helps! We’ve cancelled Christmas as we’ve spent Our entire budget on the clinic this month, but I feel so much better and hopefully we can make ourselves a baby present instead! Sending baby dust to everyone! Xxx

Hi just wondering what’s your plan of action. I’m 39 had 3 mmc I recently had a chat with the fertility clinic and although I’ve had no fertility tests (well just had bloods took yesterday for amh buts that’s all) because I’ve had 2 children and 3 mc dr said there’s unlikely anything wrong and that we just need to keep trying until time runs out and then when can’t conceive naturally then they’ll talk about ivf with a donor. So if you’ve been already been ttc for 2 years naturally what’s next?
For us it’s just healthy foods, cutting back on alcohol for him, cutting back on chocolate for me, trying to have less stress, prioritising time together and continuing the ovulation tracking.
Because my AMH is good, we know I’m ovulating and his sperm count is normal, the doctor says it’s just a waiting game. We’re both on pregnacare pre-conception meds and I’m also taking mumomega tablets, coq10 and metformin slow release too to aid egg quality and good ovulation. We’ve been told that IVF isn’t needed and for the next year or so we need to just try to conceive by ourselves. We’ll look at it again if we haven’t conceived by next autumn, recheck the data and maybe consider mild IVF at that point.
