Hi wonderful people, inexhaustible source of wisdom.
I had my (second) lining scan today, it was finally 7,3 mm and I was given the ok to start progesterone in preparation of FET day that will be next Saturday 🤞🤞🤞
I’ve been instructed to start cyclogest pessaries and lubion injections tomorrow.
Is it better to inject morning or evening?
Mondays and Tuesdays I usually drive to work early in the morning and considering that, God willing, I will have to inject for 3 months, I’m worried it could affect my driving.
I did not have any issue with Buserelin injected in the morning before driving to work, but it’s a different medication.
Any tips based on the experience you amazing ladies had on Lubion?
Thanks in advance and tons of baby dust to you all!

Hi TerryNaples, my experience is that the lubion injections are sore and a bit of a faff out and about (I need to have two needles, a syringe and a vial) but I have found that they are quite easy to take and they don't affect me after I take them. I was instructed the first few times to take them in the evening but I found it a tie to be watching the clock and figuring out where I would be at 8pm every night, so switched to taking them in the mornings. The really important thing is to take them at a similar time each day so it just depends on what works best with your schedule. I've taken them at 7.30am and been on the motorway by 8am and never thought a thing about it. So I am sure you will be fine whatever you choose. Good luck!
I’ve decided to take them in the morning with the first pessary, and I’m now lying down on my couch feeling a bit weird. But it could anxiety (I AM THE ANXIETY 🤣).
I wish you best of luck for your next steps, and renew my offer to chat if you want to 🥰
Hey, 2dp5dt, I have been taking them in the evening at around 8:30pm, I don't think it matters when, just find a time you can take it consistently at fairly close to the same time each day. Good luck with your transfer! I'm on the dreaded wait to OTD now, trying to not let my mind go too crazy.
In the end I decided to take the injections in the morning, it’s “easier” for me considering my day to day schedule. Hopefully I will feel ok to drive tomorrow.
Wow you’re in the dreaded 2WW! Was it a fresh or a FET? I wish you all the luck in the world and send you tons of baby dust ✨✨✨ your way! Keep me posted 🤞
Thank you! This was a FET, I ended up with two x 5 day blasts from a fresh cycle at the end of 2019, one was transferred and is my 3.5 year old daughter and the other is hopefully sticking now, but we'll see 🙈.
Don't worry too much about the timings, it's 24 hourly so you've done the right thing by picking a time that suits you. Good luck 🤞🤞
I’ve done both and it’s never mattered as long as you stick to the same time roughly. I prefer night time as I lie down with the pessary in bed and can get the lubion injection done too and then relax. It doesn’t give me any immediate side affects that would affect driving but it can be a little itchy and sore and when I do it in the morning if I put on jeans or a belt or tights etc it can irritate it but not for too long. I do the same with my clexane so it’s only the pessary I need to do in the morning. It’s more longer term effects of the progesterone generally I get rather than straight away after injection xx
Did you manage to do the clexane yourself? I couldn’t bring myself to do injections when I did egg collection many moons ago. I’m due to start clexane in a week or so for the first time for FET. I’ve got a few people who would do it for me but be easier if I could manage it! I’ve got pre filled ones so just the actual jabbing myself 😳😳😳
Yeah they are pre sorted for you so no faff, a wee bit nippier (on the way out weirdly) than the lubion and stims etc but defo manageable, the needle is quite small. I think the trick is grab as much skin as you can and not over thinking it and just sticking it in 😂 I prefer doing it to other people doing it that freaks me out more! If there’s any resistance where I try I just move to another bit, they do leave bruises as it’s a blood thinner so after a few weeks on them it can be hard to find a space but that would be the same if you did them yourself or someone else xx
Do you need to dispose in a sharps bin as the needle retracts after use?
If I can just make myself do one I think I’ll be ok after that. But over thinking it will be my issue! Can I jab it in? I don’t mean like violently 😂 but I think if I try to gently do it and it doesn’t go in I’ll freak and give up 🙈
This time with estrogen patches instead of tablets and injections it weirdly feels like I’m actually doing IVF. I know that sounds weird after 5 transfers 🙈 x
Yeah pop them in your sharps bin ☺️ I go pretty fast (not stab though just steadily) to break the skin then slowly inject, some people like to ice the area first too (I never have time for this so just stick it in 🤣) you will be fine the first one is the hardest then you will get the hang of it xx
I’ll go buy one as chemist says it’s cheaper than getting with the script. It’s not the feeling it’s the thought of it so I’ll just get on with it (or not cause I’ll probably wimp out 😂😂😂). X
I took mine middle of the day so it was a different time to when I took my pessaries but I don’t think it mattered really.
It shouldn’t affect your driving whatsoever- doesn’t have any obvious immediate effects- maybe a little stingy around the injection site but that’s it.
As long as it’s the same time of day each day I don’t think it matters. I did mine at 2pm as I was doing others morning and night, just meant I had to have them in my bag but wasn’t too much hassle. I’ve done lubion jabs in all sorts of places, McDonald’s drive through and on a walk in the woods were some of the highlights 😆
The important part is sticking with the same times, I’ve done both morning and night. I prefer day time or early evening for blood flow…just my own notion that it may work better in my blood stream! I did ask my clinic once and they said, do what fits around life. I found the injection easy compared to pessaries, god they make a mess!
