Lubion Injection

Hey ladies,

After some reassurance. I just did my first Lubion infection in run up to my Fet on Tuesday, I’ve used the pessaries in the past so Lubion is new to me. But I feel I messed up with my first injection. It felt like it wasn’t coming out properly so I took the needle out spilt some and then re injected. It’s left quite a lump under the skin. Is this normal and is Lubion normally feel a struggle to inject. I should be a pro at this after the amount of injections I’ve had to administer after 3failed rounds 😔

I hope it didn’t spill too much and my body gets the progesterone that’s needed. Already feel like I’m not on a higher enough dosage

Xx

Hi Sammy don't fret it should be fine just when you are done injecting just slowly and gently massage the local site as it stings and the warmth kind of spreads it evenly.

When I had these injections was told by the nurse to do so as it can bruise easily.

Take care

Thank you so much Star, I will definitely be doing this tomorrow for my next injection. As I can already feel the bruise forming. Thank you again xx

Hiya yeh it feels quite hard to push it out compared to clexane etc. I think it’s a thicker solution. I rub the area for a wee while after to spread it all out xxx I sometimes warm it up a wee bit in my hands before injecting xxx

in reply toBoo718

Amazing thank you for your reply and willDefinitely be trying this. Just felt it was an absolute disaster with this first one xx

Hey. I always feel like lubion comes out slowly so it takes ages compared to the other injections. I also find bruising with it and lumpy skin sometimes.

For the lumps you can also use ice pack after for about 5-10 mins it will settle down.

in reply toLady39

Hey, thank you for your response. Im glad it’s not just me, it was so slow this is why I ended up taking it out as I thought it was stuck 😤 least I know now for tomorrow xx

I tend to ice the area and gently go in, alternating sides with each injection, I’ve not had any major problems. The odd bruise when I’ve hit the wrong spot or not done a good job, but the more I did it the better the technique. You’ve got this! X

Thank you so much and will definitely be doing this tomorrow 🥰

I keep the vial in my pocket for about 30 mins before I inject , or on top of a hot water bottle for a few mins to warm it, this makes it a bit thinner . Inject slowly , once I take out the needle slowly I pressed down and do circular massage movement for about 5 mins. This helps prevent lumps forming.

I sometimes put the hot water bottle on the area for a couple of mins (make sure it’s warm not hot)

They defo are a bit stingy and you’ll need to alternate sides but it gets easier 🙌 good luck x

Thank you so much for your reply and advice. Will definitely be trying this, anything to not get in the mess i did this evening xxx Take care x

Lubion can leave a lump or a nasty bruise. Inject really slowly, if possible warm the solution up in your hand before and if you can rub the area afterwards that used to help me too.xxx

Thank you for your reply. You have all been so reassuring and helpful 💗

My nurse told me to put it in my bra for 10 minutes to warm it up. Makes it much easier to work with. And go slow. It is one of the worst ones unfortunately.

The best way with lubion is to warm it up under your armpit for a full 10 mins before you inject it. I promise it won’t hurt or bruise if you do it that way. Hopefully you’re also using very fine needles. It’s a while since I took mine so I can’t remember the exact needle size but it was definitely both sharper and finer than clexane if you’ve also tried that.

in reply toSnurf

Hey, thank you for your reply. Yes the needle is very thin and small and doesn’t hurt when injecting kinda use to that part now. Hopefully warming it up will help push it down better. Xx

Hi Sammy, I'm taking Lubion at the moment and also found it more difficult to administer. The first injection, I felt like I was pushing down on the syringe but it just wasn't moving! I think it's a bit of a slow mover for whatever reason but if you keep the same pressure and just take it slow and steady, it will eventually all get in there. I've also found that the last few I've done, I've had a bit of blood and even bruising on one. Agree with Star though, I've been giving the area a little massage afterwards which seems to help :) xx

in reply toRoseLodge32

Hi Rose, oh god that’s exactly how it felt with me too. I’m glad I’m not alone. Yeh there was a bit of blood, probably didn’t help I took it out and stabbed my self a few times as i thought it wasn’t coming out 🙃 hopefully this evenings one is a lot smoother after all your kind advise. Xx All the best for your journey 🤗

I remember i had problems with lubion. First i wasnt able to draw all of it up and then bubbles of it would squirt out from my skin. I found it worked best when i injected it extremely slowly. Once it was fully injected i just kept the needle there for a minute there removed and grabbed a tissue and massaged it all in. Theres always a tiny blob that would come out or get missed when drawing it up but this is what was easy for me in terms of not bruising or having any push back out from the injection site x

in reply toSUMMERTIME02

Hey, oh my god yes, that happened to me too once I had taken it out and tried it again. I swear I got more over me than inside me. Xx thank you for your reply. X

Ladies, thank you all so much for your help and advice. Just administered my second one and it went without a hitch. No spillage, warmed it first, took it nice and slow and it worked 💪🏻 Thank you all again xxx 💗

Oh finally it went through smoothly, did you use any ice pack after?

in reply toStar3129

It was still quite tough to push but I just did it very very slow. And yes put a ice cube on the area after. Does still feel tender but nothing compared to yesterday and more importantly no spills 🥰 x
