testing early

Day 7 post FET, becoming more anxious and impatient , really want to test but I’m scared.

test day is either New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day but I really can’t wait to know. I’m ignoring all the little symptoms as it doesn’t mean anything.

What shall I do ? 😣

I’d test if it’s irritating you. Plus if it’s good news you have something to celebrate NYE. And if it’s bad start the new year with a fresh start

Is it enough time ? Will it show positive if it is ? I don’t want to test and the have hope that the result will change that’s the worse!

I had -ve day 8 and chemical showed day 10. Could be too early but others have seen +ve that early. It’s so hard to decide. Some test early and hope turns from -ve to +ve but others prefer to wait till OTD.

I felt the same and tested on day 8 as I had some spotting and was convinced it hadn’t worked and I wanted to go for a long run - my test was positive 🥰 however, then followed days of anxiety as I tested every day and destroyed my sanity by scrutinising the lines and my GP thought I was bonkers.

If you do test early, please try and then wait 48 hours before testing again as I honestly lost hours of my life torturing myself.

It’s a really hard call. I set out not to test early and then caved. It’s really hard. Good luck 🍀🍀

Test if you want to. I personally have always waited till OTD but for my next FET I think I might start testing earlier. Just waiting for my next cycle to start, best of luck!! X

I tested daily after transfer, firstly to ensure the HCG from the trigger was out my system and secondly because I’d rather just know than wait & be disappointed if it had unfortunately not worked out. I had a very faint positive at 7 days, barely even there with the lines getting stronger from 9DP5DT. I am now 7wks & 6days. Good luck 🤞🏼🙏🏼 x

I think I will test in 2 days because then I will have more definite answer either way.

Congratulations wish you all the best 😘

I’ve tested from 3 days 😂 watched a line fade to a chemical, worried a line would fade to a chemical, then watched a negative turned to a positive, then watched the positive go lighter on a dodgy test when it was actually a positive. I have two frostie boys. My best advice is not to buy any tests, the anxiety it brings isn’t worth it. Hold out as long as you can. Every day is a better chance of a more reliable result xx

I had a very faint positive from day 7 with an early response test. I then tested again 2 days later and then on test day and it was positive. Good luck! X

I test early and and usually what the test is at day 7/8 is what it will be. I have had quite a few chemicals but they were still showing at test day so at least I knew they were fading by that point instead of getting excited that day to be disappointed a few days later. ‘I’ve also had a successful round which showed a pretty strong positive day 7 that didn’t fade (frozen day 5). Test day’ is a made up day by the clinic and each one seems to differ so if you would rather test on a different day as it easier for you then defo move it in a little. I usually make sure I first test at a weekend or on a day I’m working from home for example, yeah there’s a possibility it can change by test day if it’s negative but that’s never happened for me and there’s a possibility if it’s positive it can also change but that can happen on test day too. So my advice would be to test before NYE if it’s going to be easier to ease yourself into the result as I agree that’s a big day for such important news and could be overwhelming if you don’t have an idea on the way it’s likely to go from an earlier test. That’s just me though and I have to warn you will likely test every day until test day, and if you’re like me, probably beyond that too! Wishing you so much luck! Xx

I did a test this morning with the test clinic gave me I thought I saw a very very faint line so I went and bought early test but there was nothing. It hasn’t worked 😞

So sorry. But keep going with meds till OTD, hard as that is - you never know. My clinic won’t accept the result until OTD.

That’s the hardest part to continue with meds.

I really feel like giving up I know it’s only been the first cycle and just two transfers but the amount medications and physical and emotional pain makes it so difficult to continue and try again I just feel so down and hopeless 😞

I know 😥 I stopped meds after a previous -ve home test then my bloods came back low +ve and whilst it was very likely a chemical I still regret the what ifs.

Doesn’t matter how many cycles and transfers you are 💯 entitled to feel how you are feeling.

Do you have any frosties or will it be a new cycle?

I had two but when they thawed the first one it didn’t fully expand so they did the second and I lost the other one 😞

Oh yes sorry I remember. This journey is so hard and always something else to cause issues. For now just take care of yourself x

my first two rounds I waited till OTD and really regretted it when they both hadn’t worked and I wished I had just known that sooner. The next time I couldn’t do that and I knew from forums that most people can get a positive 5dp5dt so I waited till 7dp5dt as I knew that would most likely be accurate and would rather know if a chemical happened too.

I had a clear positive on a clear blue test that day - I did go a bit crazy with testing but felt more in control than the crazy my brain goes when I am waiting to test!

If you do test make sure you use a test like first response or clear blue as they are more sensitive than some others.

Keeping everything crossed for you xxx

If it’s a 5 day embryo that was transferred then I think a test might pick up HCG, they say you can usually test around 12-14 days past normal ovulation, however this is a really personal choice. I personally can never face testing until OTD, because you hear so many stories about false positives and false negatives so I wouldn’t believe the result anyway- but I have friends who start testing daily quite early on. Do what feels right for you xx
