Hi all

I’m due to have my FET tomorrow fingers crossed, had a blood test yesterday and they rang me today to say my progesterone is low at 25 they like to be 45 above I’m on cyclogest pessary since Friday 3x a day and they asked me today to use combination of different routes vaginal and rectal to help with absorption also now given me Lubion injection but I’m worried that it’s too late to help with the transfer ? Anybody with the same result and had successful transfer ?

Hi, I found out the day after my transfer that my progesterone level was slightly lower than they would like it to be (my clinic likes 30 and mine was 29.5). They asked me to double my pessaries to 6 a day and introduced a Lubion injection once a week. I am now 9 weeks pregnant. So please don’t worry, in my experience it wasn’t too late!

Aww congratulations and thank you for your reply.

I hope my embryo survives the thaw I’m most anxious about that!

Not had experience but I know that progesterone can increase (and decrease) really quickly which is why the dose is so frequent. My clinic always tests day before transfer in case extra injections needed so I think you’re all good 😊

hello lovely. This should be ok! I had my progesterone tested the day of transfer. The results were not out until the next morning. It was 25. The nurse called at 9am to say she wanted me to do Lubion twice a day and cyclogest 2 times a day as well. And to come in the next day for a progesterone test. It was about 92. So even though it was low on day of transfer and I only upped the dose 24 hours after the transfer I still got my BFP. (Not viable but that’s a different story). I actually prefer prontogest (which the clinic prescribe for me as I requested it) it’s a little more expensive and painful as it’s intramuscular (I administer it myself too). Worth a shot if you are brave enough? There might be shortcomings of having high progesterone too so ring the clinic and talk thorough best plan of action but for now no worries about it being low - you can still have a good chance even if you up the dose after transfer. How this helps. Flinging a sack full of baby dust in your face xx

Does it matter if it’s lubion or prontogest?

I don’t think so. I have had many cycles and I am better on prontgest than lubion.

Do you think I should push for prontogest I think I heard her say lubion this morning

Have you tried it before? I pushed for prontogest but my clinic were actually ok with me doing 2 lubion daily plus the cyclogest. I don’t think it makes a difference more like one prontogest = 2 lubion. You can Jan twice daily in the tummy or once a day in the bum. I went for the painful option. You got this. Don’t worry to much…

I had a fresh transfer in October with just pessaries twice a day and they didn’t check my progesterone levels then, got BFN

so worried now that it’s not gone increase the level and effect the transfer just over thinking everything again sorry.

Thank you so much for your reply and reassurance xxx

They have asked you to do 2 lubion plus cyclogest right? Before transfer? I think this is good enough. I know his distressing this is. Just trust the process it’s a better option that stressing over unknowns. Much love and baby dust..

no one lubion from today and I ve been on cyclogest three times a day since Friday. I asked her about the prontogest and she said lubion is what they use at clinic cause of cost and side effect of prontogest (abscess) and she also said that once a day lubion is enough as twice a day body does absorbed more of it I really don’t know what to think anymore I guess I just have to trust the process and the clinic ! Thanks xx

It's really good they've tested before transfer as if you can get them to do it all (a lot of clinics don't, or you have to pay) it's normally the day of transfer, and then they delay getting the results to you, then to prescribe the meds... and by then you're days after transfer. Although it still seems to work even with that delay (it did for me). So if they've done it in advance and they're aware of rectal vs vaginal, and suggesting lubion, they sound like they're really on the ball and you're in good hands :)

Hi! I had progesterone at 25 on the day of my last FET so they increased my dose to 4 cyclogests - two in the morning and two in the evening plus crinone gel mid day. My clinic wants to see progesterone at 30 or or above. The FET worked. Very best of luck!

lubion (once a day) was really effective for me (some people just dont absorb the pessaries as well as others my clinic said so this gives it the ‘boost’ needed) and can increase levels straight away! The progesterone is a 12 hour cycle (why we also do pessaries at least twice a day) so you will have had plenty of time to get your levels up for transfer. Wishing you lots of luck 🤗 xx

Hello, for our Fet cycle, my partner was on 2 X cyclogest for 5 days before transfer, her levels weren't tested and then it was just standard protocol to begin 1 lubion injection from the night of transfer through to week 8, she's now 14wksand5days pregnant.

I know its hard but try and have faith in the experts, i keep everything crossed for you, baby dust to you and yours.

Mine was 28 on day of transfer. Started daily injections and was already doing 3x Cyclogest a day. I’m currently 13 weeks, the levels can go up quickly, just follow their advice and best of luck xxx
