Hi all, I’m due for my transfer today and had my progesterone blood tests yesterday morning. I’m doing a natural modified FET and started x1 Lubion morning and x1 Cyclogest at night 36 hours post trigger. My levels came back at >190. I asked if it was ok and wasn’t it too high and the nurse said it’s great and to see me at the transfer. In the past I had a medicated FET with x2 Cyclogest and x1 lubion which failed and my progesterone levels were >150 at the time so my worry was that high progesterone is not ideal. Has anyone had experience with high levels of progesterone like this? Thanks!

Might be an idea to discuss your concerns with your clinic/nurse

I don’t think high progesterone is a problem. Too high oestrogen can be but progesterone is fine. My doctor was super pleased with my levels and they were over 250.
progesterone will often be higher in natural modified as its natural progesterone as well as supplement. Medicated is just supplemental progesterone and too much artificial progesterone can be an issue but generally better to be high than low.
For my natural modified my levels were high and it worked.
So I think you’re fine! Good luck!
Congrats! That’s what the nurse told me as well, that natural cycle patients have super high progesterone levels (producing naturally and supplementing. They wouldn’t risk not supplementing.) I think I’m finding all kinds of ways to worry or to be anxious. Had my transfer yesterday so fingers crossed xx
I have never heard of high progesterone being an issue, only low progesterone. Also, the progesterone blood tests are never quite accurate - so definitely better to be on the higher side! Research is showing that progesterone supplements are making all the difference to early pregnancies now. I had recurrent miscarriages and they noticed on my 4th and final transfer that my levels were still on the lower side (and that was whilst taking 2 pessaries and 2 Lubion injections daily - they made me up it to 3 Lubion injections daily...and I did that until 12 weeks, ouch!).
Wishing you all the very best for your transfer. Keep busy and do the things that bring you happiness xx
I think the problem with me is I can google all I want to find things to make me worry- ie finding articles about high progesterone being detrimental to the implantation environment etc. Your words are very reassuring so I’ll try and stay positive! I hate the Lubion shots too- they have been giving me a headache and nausea. But nothing ‘beats’ the Clexane shots which are absolute killer 😂
Dr Google always creates anxiety! Fear not - it is good that you have strong progesterone levels. Ideal environment for a lasting pregnancy!
Oh yes, the Clexane shots are the absolute worst. I used a numbing cream in the end (I think called EMLA) which helped a lot. Have no idea why I didn't use it throughout the entirety of my treatment!
This is what my needles got me in the end. I hope yours bring you the same gift xx

my levels were 140 at transfer so not quite as high, but the transfer did work. I was worried too!
