Egg retrieval day today

Just an update. Had my egg retrieval , worst outcome I’ve ever had unfortunately.

Had 4, possibly 5 follicle but 3 were empty. So only 2 collected but the follicles were quite bit, therefor I’m worried too mature.

Embryologist advised ISCI and if they survive , would be a 2 day transfer.

I feel pretty sad, but the usual , hoping for the best but more prepared for the worst.

Physically I feel great , not stiff, sore or anything. Best I’ve ever felt, normally I’m wrecked.

Just administered my prontogest and fragmin blood thinner. Ouch …fragmin 🙈

it’s crap!!! But you have two eggs, let’s hope that both fertilise overnight. I know they say it only takes one… but it’s true. Quality over quantity as they say. Will be thinking of you.

I feel for you….. nights like that are horrible waiting for a call the next day. Hoping you have a good nights sleep and yes will keep you in my thoughts for good news tomorrow xx

Rol81 thinking if you this morning as you wait your call. I feel your frustration, I had my first bad response on our last attempt - 4/5 follicles seen on scan but only x1 egg retrieved and it didn’t fertilise. Tubal issues only (and my age at 41) hubby is fine so it was a nasty shock not to get to transfer.

I hope though you will get at least x1 fertilise and it’s the lucky 1! 🍀 🤞🏼

Thank you, hopefully once you know you can have a rest. I find the suspense is worse than the result.

That’s a kind offer, it always amazes me how quickly I can bounce back after the initial disappointment. I’m feeling hopeful and positive about our next go in January although it will be our last (she says 😉) as life needs to go on again x

oh dear don’t be sad hope for the best. Everything will be good. I had 10 embryos nothing works. So don’t think about numbers. Stay positive. I will pray for you. Good luck 🤞
